What is the height of the stairs on blacks beach in San Diego

There is a beach in San Diego called Blacks Beach. I visited the area several years ago and remember there was a cliff with a stairway that seemed to go up several hundred feet. Walking up the stairs was tiring to get to the top of the cliff.

How high up do the stairs go? It seemed like 300 feet or so from what I remember, which is 30 stories. What is the actual height?

According to Wikipedia, the cliffs are 300 feet high. It’s not clear whether the stairs traverse the full height of the cliffs.

I live in San Diego, and i’ve spent time on many of the county’s beaches, but i’ve never been to Black’s.

You can avoid the stairs if you visit at low tide. Bring sunscreen.

Is Black’s Beach still clothing optional?

Went there once back in the 70’s. No stairs then, you climbed down the cliff to reach the beach.

Yes and no. Nudity is banned by city ordinance, but it seems to be somewhat tolerated. There’s usually not a lot of people there anyway.
