Well, it’s never been explicitly defined to me, cause if you have to ask, then you are over the hill.

Anyway, if I have inferred the connotations correctly, jelly is that wonderful and mysterious substance in a bootylicious girl’s booty that makes it jiggle like two big globes of jello when she shakes her “thang”…

Here’s another question about the same video, is or is that not Stevie Nicks shown at the beginning and playing guitar? I swear it’s her, but there’s no guest credit given.

Is that a reference to how the song sounds like the beginning of “Edge of Seventeen”? Because whenever I hear “Bootylicious” I think of the Stevie Nicks song…

If you watched MTV’s Making the Video like I did (twice, actually) then you would know that Beyonce Knowles was inspired to write the song after listening to Stevie Nicks, and they sample the song.

Someone has finally taken Shania Twain’s place as:

“Artist I am most likely to watch a video of while my television is on mute”.

Maybe I will construct a little award statue to hand out at next year’s ceremony. It would be bronze, depicting a fat guy with a shaved head sitting on the couch with his hand down his pants.
