What is the name of this movie?

It was on IFC about two months ago. The opening scene was about 5 minutes and showed a lot of nudes dancing around fountains and fires to classical music, maybe Greek times? There were scenes of a person on a swing, nude and urinating. I know this sounds like a bad trip but it was on TV and I’m trying to remember what the name of it is so I can show someone who doesn’t believe me. I don’t know if there really was a plot or not…Anything will help, thanks.

Film-identification threads usually do best in Cafe Society, so I’ll move this thread over there.

Sounds like one of the home movies of my last Memorial Day picnic.

The film is PROSPERO’S BOOKS.

It is Peter Greenaway’s adaption of Shakespeare’s The Tempest and features John Gielgud performing (IIRC) virtually all of the roles (in voiceover).

There is a huge DVD place on 34th in Manhattan. I’ll check it out to see if they have it. Thanks.
