I recently saw the photo of a rather obese young man in full battle rattle with a caption that says “Don’t worry sir, I’m from the Internet!” What was the source of this photo?
Thanks,
Rob

This is just a guess, but I’d say it from one of those ‘State’ Militias or from that fundamentalist group that was in the news recently.
Paintballers?
More like redneck airsofters.
That doesn’t look anything like a paintball rig, but it could very well be an Airsoft gun.
I’m not sure it’s an Airsoft gun either…my son is into those, and I haven’t seen one like that in the store. The one being held by the guy in the background looks even less like an Airsoft gun.
The earliest reference I could find was from December 2005.
They’re not cheap, but they exist.
I kind of assumed they were LARPers. (Live action roleplaying.)
Tin Eye gives a dozen pages of matches, but it looks like most of them have the “I’m from the Internet” caption already on them, so that’s not much help.
Looks Photoshopped.
Yes. I can tell from some of the pixels and having seen lots of shops in my time.
Yes, there’s no way those letters could have been floating in mid air naturally.
I say airsoft. The building in the background looks like a cheap bunker to be used in the games.
I went airsofting once with a guy from work and his son had a gun a lot like the one in front. The big box on top is a laser sight, probably a fake plastic one just for looks. The guy’s son banged his against a tree and it shattered.
The machine gun in the background looks like an M240G which I don’t think has a civilian variant, so either they’re real military or it’s fake.
I thought it obvious that the source of the photo is the Internet.
Oh please! You’ve never seen writing on glass before? Why does everyone immediately jump to “It’s Photoshopped”?
Yeah when I saw that I was like “FAKE; NO ONE CAN DO THAT.”
Serious speculation: it’s gotta be an airsoft reenactment.
