Heroine is of American Indian descent. She helps people obtain new identities. In a later book she marries a doctor.
I have read at least one of these books. In fact, I have it somewhere. I will go search.
Edited to add: That was easy. I asked my husband and he knew. The Jane Whitfield series by Thomas Perry.
Whitefield, sorry.
That’s it. Thanks.
Checking for any new ones…
Can anyone tell me is this series is really good, and who to compare it against? I ask, as I wondered if I could introduce my 83 yr old mother, who is an avid reader, to a new author/series???
Thanks!!!
I don’t remember the book I read all that well, but I have the impression in the back of my head that it was quite violent.
So it mostly depends on what your mother likes to read.
Well I thought so. The heroine saves victims in need by using her Indian background and gives them new lives. No more violent then a murder mystery or a suspense novel. Not as violent as an Anita Blake novel (although lately, reading Anita Blake more likey gives one an urge to smoke a cigarette.)
I really like the first one, and maybe the one after that. I wasn’t so keen on the other(s).
Part of the problem was that I felt like later books suffered from the “How can I do something new and different and more dramatic than what has gone before?” syndrome.
(Something the Anita Blake novels also suffer from).
