What is this car?

What is this car? I think it’s some model of Chrysler from the '30s.

A tineye.com search found this. A 1933 Chrysler Imperial Phaeton.

Perfect! Thanks so much!

In my new art project, I’m pairing this image with a photo of the Chrysler Building, from the same era. When I finish it, I’ll post it here.

Dang. Beat me to it.

It looks like it might be an Imperial Custom from the 1931-1933 era. Whoever put that cowling on the rear wheels should be beaten.

Is that the coolest car name ever!?

Aww, I don’t like covered wheel arches, usually. It usually just appears tacky or looks like an aerodynamic afterthought. But I like it here - maybe its the chrome where the centers would be. It works with the whole of the other changes (I think the headlights were lowered, for example).

Sure, it’d be kind of staid on a roadster, and a bit dressy for a sedan, but I think it works on the Phaeton. I think it would work on a Limo, too.
