What is this flag?

No picture, alas. When driving through Virginia last week I saw several people with small stickers on their car trunks. The stickers appeared to be of a horizontally-striped flag, black on the top and bottom, navy blue in the middle. Each stripe was the same height. Anyone know what it was?

Did it resemble this car magnet for the Human Rights Campaign?

No, I know the HRC symbol. This flag (if that’s what it is) was just as I described it.

Maybe a sticker police put on their cars? - link

From the website - “Our products are law enforcement IDENTIFIER® products. Limiting the public’s knowledge of its meaning protects the integrity of the Thin Blue Line.”

Ah, so it’s a “Don’t stop me for speeding, I’m a cop!” sticker.

That’s it - thanks!

So who’s to say regular Joes won’t go around making their own “flags” and putting them on their cars in an attempt to evade the cops?

Isn’t navy blue a lot darker than that, like almost black?

Yes. I’d call it royal blue. Whatever it is, it is most definitely not navy blue.

Yeah, could be. Probably. I saw the stickers for a few seconds apiece through a car window.
