What is this promotional item?

I was just unloading the goodie bag from our “health fair” here at work, which consists of a bunch of promotional tables with brochures and the usual pens, magnets, samples, etc. One item has me stumped, though. It is made of red plastic and is shaped sort of like a football, but more like one of those shell-shaped pieces of pasta, if you imagine the lip of the shell curving all the way over the other side, so that there is no opening.

The plastic is flexible, so it is possible to open up the shell so that it forms a sort of cup. If it were bigger, I’d guess some sort of coin purse, although it wouldn’t be convenient, because it requires two hands to open it. The shell itself is only about an inch and a half long, though, so the “cup” it forms is rather small.

It’s promoting the Barnum and Baily Circus, for some reason.

Any ideas?

A clown nose, maybe?

Just one of those fiddly things. Turn it inside out and leave it on the table for a bit and it’ll probably right itself with a little hop.

Unless it’s something else.

My God, I think that’s it! If you position it the right way, there are two little nostril holes.

Okay, so it goes in the kid’s bag with the yo yo.

Can you post a photo?

I really think it is a clown nose.

If you unroll it and stick it on your nose, it stays, without elastic.
