What is wrong here? (browse question)

This has happened on different web sites with both IE8 & Firefox. Getting a screenshot has been difficult because whatever it is happening, often, but not always fixes itself quickly. It is annoying and can make a page impossible to read.

I’ll go to a site, page loads, I scroll down and for lack of better word, the page breaks. Some sites are worst than others. It’s even happen here once or twice.

WinXP
FF 25.0.1 - though it has happen in earlier version.

Thanks.

There’s a video card system failure occurring… and its all up to the driver.
So check for an update to the graphics driver… find out the version and maker by going to the control panel then ‘device manager’…
Often the driver on the disc that came with the card/computer is more of an alpha release…
There’s no time for proper beta testing of the “on disc”. Driver is then debugged and a good driver version is made available via the internet…

I am not convinced that this is a problem at your end at all (unless, just possibly, you have insufficient avaialble RAM or a slow internet connection), especially as you say the problem usually fixes itself quickly. My guess would be that it is to do with an over complex web page loading incompletely. Its layout may rely on a lot of JavaScript or elaborate CSS or other programming, and these may be in separate files that are failing to load.

If your graphics card was responsible, I would expect you to be having problems elsewhere than just in your browser.

I should have meantion this in my OP.

Gateway Computer just over 11 years old.
Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 2.00GHz
RAM is maxed at 1GB
On-board Intel graphics. Has the latest driver from 2005.
Currently have AT&T U-verse Pro 3 Mbps

I’m just wondering if there might be a simple fix for this or if I’m just stuck with.

Thanks
