For some reason, Internet Explorer is not working right. I can view SOME webpages, but when I go to others, it says, “Error in some MSBLAHBLAHBLAH.DLL file” or whatever, then it closes.
Which is why I’m using netscape to access the SDMB.
I hope nothing is seriously wrong-I really cannot afford it at the moment.
From the IE pane, go to Help on the top toolbar, down to the bottom, About Internet Explorer, and your version along with installed patches should come up.
Hi Guinastasia
Along with the excellent advice already given…If it is infact Explorer rather than IExplore … you may want to download and run Ad-aware. Let it rid you of what it finds.
Hi again!
How to use the IE repair feature?
Simply go to your control panel…
Then add/remove…
Then look for Microsoft Internet Explorer…
Click remove.
You should be presented with a dialogue box that asks if you want to remove…or repair.
You’re going to choose to repair.
Don’t worry about it.
Go ahead and download ad-aware.
Click on “Check for updates now”
Then click on “Connect”
Let it download any updates it finds.
Click finish.
Click start
Click next
When the scan is done…
Click “Next”
Right click on any one of those boxes, and choose “select all objects”
Click “Next”
Click “Ok”
Exit the program
See if that makes any difference.
The problem could be with the nut in front of the monitor…sorry, just kidding.
I’d go to microsoft.com and get all of the latest updates to your OS and browser. This could take a while if you’ve never done it before because some patches/updates can’t load until other ones are added first and you have to restart after each time you load something.
Windows ME is a disaster. If you can, update to XP.
