I’m trying to resist the temptation to have “santa” buy me a Saddleback leather messenger bag…it’s expensive as all Hell (probably about $500 after shipping?) but everything I’ve read and heard about them is good, and my crappy, $20 Kohl’s bag I got about six months ago is already falling apart…
I also want to get a netbook, but since I already have a laptop, it’s probably pointless…though on the other hand, the laptop is too big (17.3") to fit into that Saddleback bag, so…

A fuzzy puppy, English Springer Spaniel. Kimber is a wonderful addition to the family. She’ll probably be twice as big by Christmas - grows like a weed.

Wow! My local shop got a batch of 12, 15, 20 and 23 year old in a few weeks ago. I went with a 12 and a 15 because I just couldn’t justify the cost for the 20 or 23 as much as I wanted them. I haven’t opened them yet, but I’m anxiously awaiting New Years Eve.
ETA: I’m waffling between getting an iPad now or waiting for an iPad 2.
Very, very good tickets to see Jeff Beck in March. Also my b’day present to myself – they’re a bit on the pricey side. But tenth row, center … good tix.
Rock Band 3, a full suite of new instruments, and a PS3 to play it on. We have Rock Band 2 on the Wii, but I wanted the high definition graphics, and the hard drive to be able to import songs from RB 1 and 2, and from the track packs.
Best part is, I’m pretty sure the kids have no clue a PS3 is coming, or that we’d even consider it.

I bought myself Bob Came In Pieces on Steam for $2.50 last night because it’s all I can afford to spend on myself. Fun game. Was worth 20 bits to me.
Yeah, they offer a class on how the thing works, they teach you to use it, and you get a little certificate of completion at the end. Not that it actually qualifies you to use one for real, but it just seemed like so much fun! I’m a big hockey fan, so having a Zamboni driver certificate on my wall would be so kickass sweet. Unfortunately, the one close to home is $200, which is too much. The one that’s cheaper, at $75, is a 2 hour drive away, so that’s not going to happen.
Five days in Florida the first week of January, attending a professional conference.
Because it’s on my own dime, I can feel justified in picking and choosing the workshops, lectures, and round tables to attend (rather than years ago when the school paid for it, and I felt somewhat obligated to attend as much as possible), and spending the rest of the time on the beach, or in town visiting museums, or whatever.
I’m in Denver. Five days in Florida in January? That right there is a gift, regardless of why I’m there.
Yeah, still alive, and playing at a favorite local venue (approx. 1200 seats). I’ve only seen him once, c. 1980, but he’s on my top ten list of guitar faves.
