Hubby and I decide that in lieu of gifts we would buy ourself a trip. We’re flying into Vegas in February and renting an RV to drive around Death Valley and the Valley of Fire in. I’m looking forward to bringing back spectatular pictures.
A 32" widescreen TV. That will seem teensy to some of you, but our previous tv (still going strong! was a 21" & this is about as big as we can have in our very small living room.
I got a Borders 40 percent off coupon so I picked up seasons 2 and 3 of The Wire for myself.
Never, ever, buy me a present!
No gift for myself yet, was thinking about getting some new sunglasses but i’m a bit strapped for cash, waiting on the result of a job interview (should hear early Jan) so might treat myself to the sunglasses if I get the job.
A Kokopelli wall clock and a Sansa Fuze MP3 player.
We bought an upgrade to biz class for the LAX-Fiji leg of our recent trip to the Solomon Islands. I don’t think we need to be doing anything else for Christmas this year!

When I flew LAX-Fiji, the plane was almost empty. IIRC, it was a 3-4-3 configuration. Just about every passenger had a set of seats to themselves. I was in the middle, and was able to lie down with my legs straight across the four seats. Plane took off at 10pm, arrived in the morning. I slept for 8 hours. Easiest really long flight I’ve ever done in coach.

I think I’ll get myself a new set of earbuds for my radio…just got back from a jog and remembered that one channel is dead on mine.
Oh…and if anyone has a spare knee, I could use one of them too. Stupid joint pain.

The same as last year: a trip to Houston (where it’s considerably warmer than Tennessee this year) and my annual Christmas CD.
I ordered myself a new computer to replace this cheap laptop that has problems with what I think is the hard drive overheating.
I got myself. Actually the big picture would be Tiny. Small wears armour (the inset to the right).
[Raccoons]
“Poor Jody.”
“You Mean!?”
“Yup! Now she’s bald on Both Ends…!”

I’m going to get myself a Kate Spade handbag, if there’s one I want at Nordstrom’s Rack. (I have a $50 Groupon and some cash.) Otherwise, I’m going to get myself something else that is girly and unnecessary. Possibly something absurd for the feet!
An nVidia GTX 460 graphics card. Which I’ll be lucky to see before spring if the freakishly bad weather that’s all but shut down postal services here in the UK continues.
An amethyst and diamond ring. Our jeweler is retiring, so he is selling his inventory. I got a few Christmas presents for others and could not resist getting one for myself.
I got myself a really nice Citizen Eco Drive watch. My soon to be ex wife bought my last one years ago and I wore it every day. Until yesterday. I wanted a new one. I think it’s the best kind of gift.
They really are nice watches. Mine died & I haven’t shipped it out to be [del]lost-in-the-mail[/del] repaired yet.
We just bought a Sony Bravia 40" for ourselves, too. We paid about twice as much as you did, but it’s worth it to not have anything to do with any Black Friday business.
We were going to get a 32", then we saw the motion blur in a 32" 60Hz screen, vs. a 40" 120 Hz screen. Jim likes to watch sports, so 40" it was!
I’m getting paid in a few days (thank you weird pay schedule!), so I’m planning on popping out to John Lewis on Thursday and buying a 20-jar spice rack. It’s sort of for me and sort of for my girlfriend - I think I’ll present (heh) it as a gift for “the house”
I’m also getting some proper hiking boots in January, but that’s partly going to be using Christmas money from my grandad.
Maybe a Mustang Cobra, I’m still emailing back and forth with the current owner.
Will that cause you to change your user name?
