I like the Wintergreen, but only the sugar-free ones, not the regular ones.
I just ordered $47 dollars worth of Altoids from Amazon. 12 tins of ginger, and 12 tins of liquorice. I wasn’t able to find them around here.
The chocolate-covered peppermints were my favorite, but I also love the ginger and licorice ones.
A clove Altoid would immediately become my favorite candy.
I used to carry a tin of em in the car all the time. Until one day at a traffic stop the police kept questioning me about why I have them, they confiscated them like they were some sorta illicit drug.
To this day, I have no idea what the hell that was all about. :dubious:
I haven’t bought any since.
For myself, I hate them, as they are universally too stong for me and leave me unable to taste anything else for some time after one, but as a gag to give to friends who brag about their ability to eat hot peppers, I like the ginger flavor. It’s an entirely different kind of burn than capsaicin and often is way too strong for them.
Blasphemers all’a ya! I eat peppermint the most, because it’s the easiest to find, but spearmint is factually the best mint. Also, it’s the only one that’s an actual true mine, as wintergreen is a vague term referring to many plants and peppermint is a filthy hybrid. Cinnamon ones are kind of gross. Never tried ginger. And I know all the people who said [del]licorice[/del liquorice aren’t North Americans, but they’re “ok” in my book. Creme de menthe was okay, just a bit understated.
In summary: spearmint > peppermint > liquorice* > wintergreen > cinnamon
*special occasions, otherwise lower. I don’t use it as a breath freshener like I might the others.
If I eat two peppermint Altoids simultaneously, I sneeze!
The ginger ones are OUTSTANDING. I eat the entire tin in one sitting, I just can’t help myself!

If there was an option for: “I don’t really prefer any particular flavor because the novelty of ‘Curiously Strong Mints’ no longer exists for me.” then I would choose that option.
I honestly can’t remember the last time I had an altoid. The flavor was either peppermint or wintergreen.
Note to self; future polls should look like this:
Option A
Option B
Option C

Cinnamon and Ginger, yes+++.
I was prepared to like the Liquorice ones but didn’t.
