What is your favorite Kesha song?

God forgive me, I’m a 38-year-old man and I kind of like “Take it Off.” A fair amount. OK, I like it a lot. The only other song of hers I’ve heard is “Tik Tok”, which I don’t care to hear again. Oh, the things you’re reduced to for entertainment when you’re in a car several hours a day.

I thought it was spelled “Kedollarsignha.”

I’ll cast my vote for “Blow.”

And can someone link to the unicorn/van der Beek video? Sounds like I’ve been missing out!

That’s how James “Van der Douche” says it in the video..

Which, to be clear, isn’t the same as being fake, in the sense I meant above. I was talking about the difference between an artist doing what she loves versus what she cynically thinks will sell.

Anyway, I do like many strains of dance music including some pop ones. “Over the top” is entirely complimentary in some house circles. I like some elements of the work by her enormous composition and production team. I mainly just can’t stand that thin voice, sometimes smug, sometimes whiny when she doesn’t mean it to be; what little character it has is more or less the opposite of what I like in dance vox.

Her tracks are arranged to give maximum support to her voice by any means possible, so they sound incomplete in instrumental mixes, but I still like them more in her absence. Well, they don’t actively annoy me. I might like a couple of them with different singers.

Well, yes. Then again,

I’m very happy to oblige. It’s not every day you see a music video that alludes to the parliament of Uzbekistan.

If you want to talk fake, you go with Gaga. She intentionally sings badly or covers up her voice with tons of effects so she can sing popular music. That’s being fake. Personality is irrelevant. (And using Auto-Tune doesn’t count these days)

As for the OP: sorry. I don’t think Ke$ha can sing, so I don’t have a favorite. I don’t really care about the persona or lack thereof if you sing poorly. (And, no, covering it up with speak-singing and overuse of Auto-Tune doesn’t fix your voice.)
