What is your favorite publication/website for health-related information?

Me? For about two decades it has been the Life Extension Foundation’s magazine and website. I have found some of their recommendations for otc products and dosing protocols to be spot on in some instances where my blood work results were showing some out-of-range values.

I started ordering their male panel of lab tests every couple of years in the 00’s. Since around 2010, I’ve been ordering the male panel annually. I can see firsthand if something is out of whack based on my historical results and decide whether it’s something that I may be able to deal with through supplementation and/or nutrition, or whether I need to see a doctor ASAP… When trying something new, I will order a test around the 3 month mark to evaluate whether what I’m taking seems to have any effect on what I’m trying to mitigate.

So what about you?

For a regular selection of new reports on topics that might interest me, it’s probably Medscape. Even if I’m apathetic about 90% or more, the articles I don’t delete are worth getting the newsfeed.

When I’m searching specific topics, WebMD and Medline Plus usually end up being the most informative and authoritative. Or quite often, anyway.

I’ll be very interested to read what others say are good resources for health information.

Unfortunately the WHO seems to be one to avoid nowadays.

Ever since they endorsed ‘Traditional Chinese Medicine’, presumably bowing to political pressure.
