Cold cut trio on white with lettuce, tomato, olives, pickles, mayo and bacon. Although I’m sill upset they no longer cut the bread the right way.
Spicy Italian on honey oat, Monterrey cheddar cheese, toasted.
Tomato, extra onion, green peppers, yellow peppers
Honey mustard, southwest sauce, and salt/pepper.
The food of the gods it is, even if it is terrible for the breath.
I was in the States a few months ago and was amazed (and a little disappointed) to see that the ingredients there - apart from the cheese varieties - were exactly the same as they are here. Even McD’s differs a little from country to country, but not Subway.
Personally, I only ever get the tuna. Whenever I deviate from this I get disappointed, so have taken just to eating what I like.
Tuna 6" on wheat with cheese, olives, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and jalapenos, with southwest chipotle sauce. Every single time. Damn, I want one now.
Foot long veggie patty on the Monterey cheese bread. Swiss & Provolone cheese. All the veggies except hot peppers and black olives. Sweet onion dressing (they really should sell this at grocery stores; it’s awesome).
In fact, this is what I ate yesterday.
You sure? I’ve found menu items differ even in the U.S. There’s some that I go to that have a pizza sub on the menu, some don’t. Some have breakfast subs (eggs, bacon, ham, etc.) and some have actual pizzas. But yes, the basics do always remain the same… It is a rather boring sandwich shop after all, a one item business…subs, subs, or subs.
Ah well, in that case I am a victim of my own anecdote: a sample size of one - which was in a gas station in rural Illinois, so perhaps that was the “bog standard” version, but larger stores have more variety.
And actually I’ve just remembered that in the UK we have the “Reggae Reggae Chicken” sub, which is local to us too. So I’ll shut up.
Second the meatball!!
All vegetables except peppers, cheese, light mayo, on whole wheat.
Briefly, for like a month several years ago, they had thai peanut chicken sandwiches. Grilled chicken, peanut sauce, and I’d add spinach and carrots. It was so good that when they stopped offering it everything else at Subway seemed so lackluster that I eventually stopped eating there.
And I can see why. That sounds terrific. It’s a shame how some fast food places will introduce a teaser flavor for a limited time and then yank it. Stupid marketing from where I stand. I quit going in McDonald’s after they yanked the McRib and McLean. Hardee’s is forever trying a new gimmick and then pulling it. At least I still like their bacon cheeseburger, so I go back.
Italian BMT on Italian Herbs and Cheese, with shredded cheese (I think it’s Mozerella and Chedder, all I know is you generally get more cheese and it melts the best), with lettuce, green peppers, parmesian, oregano, and occasionally Chipotle sauce. Toasted.
Delicious. And it seems like the BMT is the best value, meat-wise.
I’m a fan of the flatbread. Chicken bacon ranch with Jack and spicy mustard. Haven’t tried the Black Forest ham but it sounds good.
I know, but I always figured that if I’m going to pay more anyway, I might as well go someplace good, like Quizno’s (who now delivers, yay!).
I can’t believe nobody else has any love for the Big Philly Cheesesteak. I urge you all to support this sandwich, lest it be taken away due to lack of interest. But on the other hand, more for me!
Six-inch veggie delight on wheat with lettuce, tomato, jalapenos, olives, banana peppers and the white American cheese. Top with loads of mayo. I used to eat these constantly when I was pregnant - it was my version of pickles and ice cream. I thought I’d get over it when I had my kid, but three years later, I’m still hooked.
$5 Black Forest Ham footlong with provolone on Monterey Cheddar bread, toasted…lettuce, black olives, one line of lite mayo, one line of mustard.
I’ve been stuck on the footlong tuna with the “Works” on the Italian Herb and Cheese. I’m sure they’re losing money on that sandwich for $5 when I order one.
Veggie delite with all the veggies, oil and vinegar, salt and pepper, and (this is important) feta cheese on wheat bread. It’s like a greek salad on a bun!
I am still in mourning for the Seafood and Crab sub, which disappeared from the menu many moons ago.
Yes, I know the “seafood” was generic fish of dubious origin, and the amount of actual crabmeat in it was probably measurable in milligrams, and sometimes they made it with too much mayo (what was really ghoulish was when they asked if you wanted extra mayo and dressing on it), and it probably contained a month’s supply of mercury, and…
Dammit, I liked that sandwich.
Bring it back!!!
When the subway near us first opened, the only had white and whole wheat bread. They only had that disgusting white american cheese. Now there’s 4 or 5 different breads and provolone, hot pepper, and american cheese. I am not sure if they have swiss.
My favorite is a Sweet Onion Chicken Teryaki, on Asigo cheese bread, toasted, with extra onions, pickles, black olives, jalapenos, and extra sweeet onion sauce.
Runner up is the Spicy Italian with the same ingredients except for the sweet onion sauce.
Oven Roasted Chicken Breast + Lettuce + Onion + Olive + Salt + Pepper + Ranch + Mayo
