Roast chicken on honey oat (or sometimes as a wrap), with lettuce, onions, tomatoes, green peppers, banana peppers, black pepper, one stripe of honey mustard and one stripe of Frank’s Red Hot. No cheese. And a chocolate milk to drink.
I can’t stand Subway. A lot of this is because I like bread, and don’t like theirs much. And then they scoop out the bread and throw most of it away. What’s left is much like a sandwich that has been put on the floor and stepped on a few times. Give me Togo’s or Quiznos any day. If you like Subway, I’ve no argument with you; its just not my thing.
I like almost all of them. But the good old standby is Roast Beef on wheat, American cheese, deli mustard, no mayo, load it up on the veggies.
Those poor employees, Subway is doing this promotion now that you can get “Any” footlong for $5. However it’s any “regular” sub, which doesn’t include stuff like steak. I think they spend all day explaining that to people, and they have to explain that taxes are extra to a few too.
Hmm, this is strange. When I go to Subway they almost always cut the bread down the middle and open it up into a little ‘V’ shape, put the toppings on and squish down before cutting the sandwich in half. No wasted bread.
Anyway, I’m a creature of habit. I always get the same thing.
The Club, (double meat and cheese), with pickles, lettuce, green peppers, onions, salt n’ pepper and vinegar with a generous dollop of spicy mustard. (Enough for lunch and dinner both.) Always hits the spot.
I haven’t been in awhile. I may have to stop in tomorrow after I go to the grocery store…
Something I forgot to add…
When they cut the bread they always seem to cut down the very top of the roll, not from the side as would seem to be natural. I’ve always thought it peculiar, but not enough to actually say anything.
Is this standard practice for anyone else or just something particular to my local establishment?
I usually do the $5 foot-long because then I can eat one half for dinner/lunch and save the other half for later/next day. (YES, I refridgerate it!) More economical that way.
My choice? Roasted chicken breast on Italian herb and cheese bread with provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato and onions. Yummy! (Oh man, now I want to go to Subway)
Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki foot long on whole wheat. I usually go to the same Subway all the time, so they understand what I mean by “little lettuce”. Then black olives, double pickles, green peppers and light dressing.
Everything usually works out great, but the sauce is always heavy. I usually wait for the sauce to get soaked up by the bread and eat half for lunch. The rest will be grazed upon for the rest of the day.
