My lowest score was a 23 or so. I was about 12, playing with another guy the same age. It was hot as hell, so we quit after 3 holes and went swimming instead.
Don’t think I ever broke 100 for a full round, and haven’t played more than a handful of rounds since I was a teenager.
On the 13th tee. It’s a tight tee box, elevated, , with trees on each side, opening up to a wide fairway that doglegged left at about 175 yards.
I hit a wormburner. Huge power, no loft. It screams off the toe of the club, three feet off the ground, right at the side of the tee box. It hits a tree and bounces back, over our heads in a beautiful parabola, and lands on the 12th green… and rolls in the hole.
My best was a 72 (par 70) many years ago, and it came after having four beers at lunch time. On reflection, maybe I just couldn’t count very well after that.
