You went to the Iowa State Fair and didn’t eat food on a stick? How could you! I was in Iowa when the fair was going on (of course no where near Des Moines so I didn’t get to go to the fair dangit!) and the tv people kept talking about all the food on a stick. Sounded like you could get anything on a stick at the Iowa State Fair. I wanna go now and spend all day eatin’ food on a stick. How handy is that? A big pork something on a stick while lookin’ at hogs and a big beef something on a stick while lookin’ at cows. Now that sounds like fun! :smiley:

The Georgia National Fair (not State, mind you, but National) is next month. Elephant ears, funnel cakes, corn dogs, pecan and peanut brittle, muscadines… mmmmm… drool can’t wait! Yay state fairs!

Jess, have you been to the Virginia State Fair? If so, can you give a consumer report?

VA is coming up in a couple weeks, and I only have Indiana to compare it to.

I went to the Iowa State Fair last year and didn’t eat anything on a stick. I my defense, we had just eaten lunch at a great barbeque place, and all I could manage were the deep-fried twinkies and oreos.

In penitence, I will maybe deep-fry some cheese curds and/or mars bars and/or cheesecake this weekend.
