What keeps you using the browser you use?

I give equal time to two browsers — Firefox, because of Firebug and Greasemonkey; and Opera, because of 90% of the positive difference between Firefox and IE + super-quick launch speed.

I tried Chrome, but its “speed” comes as a result of prioritizing what it thinks it should be doing over the last command I ordered it to do. I’ll grant that the total time spent completing all requested operations is probably better under Chrome’s “optimization”, but it’s not how I want my browser to behave.

Isn’t Firefox 4 due out this week?

I used to love Firefox but it’s become bloated and is a memory hog. I reluctantly switched to Chrome when Firefox started locking up for minutes on end over some issue with Flash. Chrome’s ok. I’d rather go back to Firefox, but Firefox circa 2005ish, not today’s Firefox.

I’m beta testing it now. It is quite a bit faster, but still has glitches.

You can do the same with the portable version of Firefox.
