What kind of candle are you burning?

I have one blueberry muffin candle and one pineapple candle burning side-by-side, and mmmm! do they smell good together.

Now we’re heading into cooler weather, I suppose I’ll break out the spiced apple or some other spice blend.

What are you burning? And what scents do you like for fall?

Now I’m inspired…something that smells similar to leaf-smoke, maybe? A nice pipe tobacco scent sounds good too…

Yankee Candles’ “Harvest” going right now. I must be in the autumn mood, too.

I am a Yankee Candle freak and I’m pretty sure I have a least one of everything they make. If you like fall-burning-leaves scents, Yankee has several variations - Autumn Leaves (only available in votives), Fireside, Cedarwood. Also autmn-y: Harvest, Spiced Apple, Spiced Pumpkin.

I’m out of scented candles. I should get some. Chocolate ones are good. And cappuchino. Cinnamon is always nice, too.

It’s daytime, and my power is on, so no candles here.

Mmmm, hot chocolate candles…

I’ve found that I can’t smell a lot of the foody candles, but I have a nice hot apple pie that I like, at least when it burns. And I have a great hot chocolate, need to make some more of that one.

I always think that I don’t like cinnamon, just because I’m tired of it, but then when I actually burn one, it smells pretty darn nice.

All these smells are making me hungry, maybe I should make some muffins…

(oh, how these things snowball…)

The kind that burns at both ends!

I LOVE the Yankee Candle “Clean Cotton” scent. It is WONDERFUL. Just makes my house smell very clean with out me doing laundry. haha

Also I really like this cheap-o brand “Winter Cranberry” scent that I have. It’s also crisp and clean.

I usually have a Yankee Candle vanilla burning, along with different votives. Right now…vanilla, mulberry and Pier 1 Imports pear/spice. I am getting quite addicted to the pear/spice ones , and am impressed enough that I might switch to Pier 1 candles altogether in the future. They burn really clean and last a L O N G time.

<<adding to “To Sniff” list: Clean Cotton>>

I was in Pier 1 the other day and they had some great scents. Tamarind…Something was my favorite–I have a soft spot for citrus scents.

LemonGrass. It’s light and citrusy. I love it. I also have a wedge of Gen U Ine Frankinscense from Asia here on the shelf. Just a little dab’ll do ya, it’s the most sublimely deep scent.

Then, there’s the huge Yankee Candle Cinnamon.

Cartooniverse

I like Yankee’s honeysuckle.

And I figured that I should mention that I heard that those jelly candles can cause fires because the jelly will catch on fire.

Vanilla right now. I also like spiced apple at this time of year.

I just picked up a “Clean Cotton” the other day. I love it too. Laundry loses that scent after it’s been through the dryer, and although fabric softener can smell pretty good too, this is so much better.

I have a little tiny oil lamp- one of the open-bowl one- that I got in Little India. It holds about a teaspoon of oil, and a bit of cotton for a wick. I use it to burn a mixture of frankinscence oil and veggie oil. It’s great.

rightthisverysecond?

Mulberry.

I am a candle junkie, and one of my fave scents is Pound Cake from Illuminations ~ I also love rain-scented candles.

One of my very favorite candle scents is a non-Yankee one that I can no longer find ANYWHERE. It was called “Clarity” and it was made by Nagy Aromatherapy, and I can’t find a website for them, nor have I found any retailers around here who carry it. If anyone should happen upon this one, and be willing to do some shopping for me, I will gladly send money.

(Clean Cotton is my favorite Yankee – do you know they have a linen spray in that scent now?)

Right now I’m burning a Colonial At Home Cucumber-Melon “roomscenter” votive on my desk. I know that burning candles right by a computer isn’t a good idea when done too frequently, but I cannot resist this scent.

I’'m also a candle junkie, and the Colonial At Home line is one of my favorites. I love their scents, beyond the cuke-melon (which is just like the cuke-melon line of stuff at Bath & Body Works) they’ve got yummy lemon parfait, champagne, berry-banana, merlot, rain water, mango, spice cookies and something like five different variations on vanilla. I adore them. I don’t even bother with Yankee anymore. The C@Hs are hard to find in person, but they’re very much worth it.

(I am in no way employed nor otherwise remunerated by the Colonial At Home company for my ringing endorsement of their candles. I just really, really love 'em.)

Boy does this sound familiar! lol

I’m rather partial to spruce/pine, rain, cinnamon, and vanilla scents.

There are others I like, just the name evade me at the moment.

In the living room: Yankee Candle “Macintosh.” It’s such a crisp and realistic apple, I just can’t get enough of it.

In the bedroom: Illuminations “Napa Valley Harvest.” It’s appley and grapey and citrusy all at the same time while still being light and fresh. Can’t get enough of it.
