What kind of car/vehicle do you drive

My main car is an old beater: a '93 Chevy Lumina (still runs like a top, though, and gets much better gas mileage than you might expect). For that, I checked “basic family car”. My hubby drives an '06 BMW X3, so for that, I checked “small SUV” (Which is what it’s classified as, though I find it silly that it qualifies as any kind of SUV).

'07 Saturn Ion, 5 speed manual, 28 MPG combined, 35MPG Highway

My main vehicle is a 2008 BMW 335i, but I sometimes drive my 2003 Ford Explorer for recreational purposes. We also have a mini-van, but that’s mostly for my wife to haul the kids around in.

My 2003 Grand Prix isn’t small at all. It’s pretty big- quite roomy. It’s a large family sports car.

I voted both “basic family car” and “other” because while I own such a car, I use bicycle and public transit 90% of the time. This isn’t about virtue, fitness, or ecology so much as it is about how much I hate Los Angeles. The only thing worse than driving here is parking here. My partner uses the car, and so gets stuck with the grocery shopping.

I picked big suv, since a 2004 Grand Cherokee is closer to a big suv,(like the Jeep Commander) than a small suv like the (like the Jeep Liberty). It averages about 16 mpg, mostly city driving.

And I don’t consider it a basic family car, even if thats what most people would use it as.

It wouldn’t let me vote for Big SUV twice.

I’ve got an Expedition and Lincoln Continental at home. The Continental has 130,000 miles and is my beater and daily driver, although it’s pretty much in perfect shape other than interior wear and tear. I called that a “Big Luxury Car” although it’s really only mid-sized (yeah, it’s EPA full-sized, but it’s not really!), and it’s not really luxurious by today’s standards, either.

I’m currently driving a company Expedition (much newer than my own). This thing is so loaded, I’m not sure I’ll ever need to be a Lincoln customer again! It’s kind of a comfortably dangerous ride, though, because every once in a while I look down and have to slow down in a big hurry because I realize that I’m doing over 100 mph.

I have one of those, a 2006 model. Here’s a pic of mine (I got it with Xb wheels): http://i427.photobucket.com/albums/pp360/sgenetti77/PA240013.jpg

We also have a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan Special Edition. It has pleather!

Not sure where a Dodge Caliber would fit, so I picked Small SUV.

2006 Pathfinder. I voted big SUV though I consider it medium large. It’s on a truck frame so it’s not a small SUV. My wife is in a Grand Jeep Cherokee. I would also call it medium large. It has a full ladder frame like the Pathfinder. Not a Suburban, but not a Subaru.

2008 Saturn Vue AWD, V-6. A small SUV with lots of get up and went.

2000 Toyota Tundra for around the town, driving to my work (6 miles away), hauling the horse trailer, construction/remodeling equipment, moving (us, as well as “Hey, can we borrow your truck for…”), and other “need the truck for that” purposes. For family drives, we take hubby’s 2005 Volvo S40.

2009 Honda Fit.

2009 Subaru Forester

I have a 2000 Honda Civic that gets 32-25 mpg. I love her.

Similar here; I have an '01 Dodge Intrepid R/T. If I don’t “put my foot in it,” I get decent mileage. As I have a company-provided Ford F-350 work truck, I don’t drive my own car to-and-from work, only using it for weekend runabout.

Other: my car is a train

2000 Blazer, 2005 Pontiac Montana, 2006 Mustang GT Convertible

2003 BMW 325 xi. Should I vote small sports or other?

I hate it. Awful, wretched reliability. It currently won’t lock, and the window is slow (despite repeat fixings). But gracious to my parents for a car. Will replace it with a used Subaru, legacy or impreza, when the time comes.

You need a category for crossovers. I drive a Chevy Equinox, part SUV, part mini van. This is becoming a popular class of vehicle nowdays.
