What kind of contradictory moderation nonsense is this?

Hey, first of all, I want to say that I think the Mods here do a great job and that moderation here is better than when I first started reading the SDMB IMHO. Once in a blue moon, however, one must politely ask a few questions.

In this thread about Black Lives Matter, Miller makes the following comment:
He didn’t call you a Nazi, he pointed out that, by your logic you could be called a Nazi. Which is why people should not follow your logic, because it leads to transparently ridiculous conclusions.

Which is followed immediately by this comment by Jonathan Chance :

[QSH, you should know better than to insult someone like this.

Warning issued. Control yourself.](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=18938385&postcount=384)

These two opinions on the same post could not be more divergent AFAICT. Personally I think that Miller has the right of it - but perhaps there is something I am not seeing.

You are looking at the wrong thing-- it’s not about Nazis. Look at how QSH changed GloryDays username in his post.

Miller is not a Great Debates moderator. In general, moderators do not moderate outside their own forums.

That is true; but is it not odd that two moderators would have such a wildly different view about a post that receives a warning? Maybe I’m wrong about that - this is not something I’ve ever seen before.

Did you read post #2? GloryDays -> GloryHole. THAT is what was being moderated.

Hah! I don’t know how I missed that :smack: Indeed, there was something I overlooked, thank you.

If Miller hadn’t posted what he did, you probably wouldn’t have been biased to be looking for the Nazi reference. It’s all Miller’s fault!

I think this should be made a standard SDMB rule.

“It’s always Miller’s fault. Blame Miller.”
