What kind of game is Snood?

My appologies if this has already been answered. I did a search and couldn’t find what I wanted.

I have seen many people recommend the game Snood. But their website doesn’t really describe the game. Is it a puzzle game? And adventure game? Text based? RPG?

Thanks!

It’s a puzzle game that is more or less a rip-off of Bubble Bobble. You have to line up bubbles of the same color to make them disappear.

I always thought it was closer to Bust-a-Move.

It’s fun. I like it better than Bubble Bobble. Able to beat it on Evil level about 5% of the time now.

Howyadoin,

I don’t know if this the case with all installations of Snood, but my nephew’s GF installed it on his computer and it brought the evil known as Gator to the party. For those who don’t know, Gator is some of the nastiest, hardest to remove spyware on the planet. If you’ve installed Snood, you might want to download Ad-Aware from lavasoft.de and make sure you aren’t being harvested like a denizen of the Matrix.

Indeed. Bubble Bobble featured dinosaurs trapping enemies in bubbles shot from their mouth.

Snood is one of the most insidious games of all time. As we speak I’m on level 27 of Puzzle, and I’ll never stop playing this game until I beat all 50 levels, consecutively.

And the first game I thought of when I saw it for the first time was Bust-A-Move as well.

Bust-a-Move is a ripoff of Snood, that features videogame characters Bub and Bob, who made their videogaming debut on the ancient arcade game Bubble Bobble.

Snood is the addictive kind.

It’s a Role playing game in my house.

I’m a 37th level blue guy. My wife is a mere 12th level purple triangle head.

Ahhh I love Bust-a-Move  But my favorite one of these has to be Super Puzzle Fighter II - Turbo! Unfortunately my son got so good at it he beats me every time, though at first I was the best. So a lot of the fun is gone now.

Snood came first? I thought we stole it from the Japanese, not them from us.

It’s crack, pure and simple. I had to delete it from my machine to keep from playing it constantly. I have a friend who had to do the samething because that was all he and his wife did when they had it on there.

I’m a snood addict, too.

Bust-A-Move, under the name Puzzle Bobble (which shows its connection to Bubble Bobble) came first. I think they were up to about Bust-A-Move 4 or so by the time I first heard of Snood.

Bust-A-Move is a better game, I think, though the differences are admittedly subtle.

For one thing, Snood is free.

I’ve never played Snood, but I always have a lot of respect for free games. I don’t think it’s very telling to compare them to their market equivalents.

I definitely prefer Bust-A-Move. It has a timer, special blocks (wood chunks, rainbow bubbles, and magic disappearing blue sparkles), goofy characters, and it spouts Japanese phrases.

Tatshi-da-hai-to. Taiiii-to!

D’oh, how could I leave out the two things that really set BAM apart: chain reactions (in 2 player mode) and those damn annoying pulley levels.

The storyline isn’t much to speak of, though:
“GIVE ME ALL YOUR RAINBOW BUBBLES”
“NO YOU CAN’T HAVE THEM”
“OK THEN GET READY TO FIGHT”

Hello, my name is Scarlett (“Hi, Scarlett!”), and I PAID for Snood.

Crack is slightly less addictive.

And even that might be giving too much credit to crack.

I’ve basically come to accept that Snood has taken my soul from me, and will remain in possession of it for all eternity.

Bust-A-Move is better if only for that cool music. Da da da da da da, do do do do do do, da da da da da da, do do do do do do do do!

At least Snood doesn’t give you lung cancer.
