What kind of image/drawing is this?

On this webpage, the main image on the link below, and the images listed under “Similar images” is the kind of artwork that I’m trying to find a name for.
Can anybody tell me what, if any, is the proper name for this kind of artwork? I need to know because I will be needing something similar for my business advertisement, and if I find a drunken artist, I will be able to say “I want a face drawn in X style”.

Thanks,
hh

Perhaps there’s a name for it, but I suspect that you’ll just have to go with “50s era advertising line art”.

Bob Dobbs.

“50s Retro line art” maybe? An image search under that nets a lot of similar results.

Yeah, pretty much. And when you’re talking art styles, there’s no sustitute for providing examples, like the OP did. If I was trying a strictly written destription, I might say, “mediocre, vaguely comic-booky, 1950s clip art style drawing executed with ink and brush, with a mixture of solid blacks and simple lines.”

But a sample is the way to go.

People from Tom Tomorrow cartoons.

By the way, my anti-virus software blocked the image site. I had to bypass it to see the image. You know what’s up?

I don’t know if there’s an “official” name for it. If pressed, I’d just refer to it as retro pop art.

That particular artist is Mitch O’Connell.

“Subgenius-style” was the first thing that came to mind.

The second was “McCarthyist agitprop” but that’s just me.
