What kind of sausage was this?

I’d thought knackwust on first read, too.
Short, wide and light in color.
I’ve never had one that I really liked.
They’re just like a dryer, fatter hot dog.

The sharp bend made me think of ring bologna:

Probably too long, though.

They only time I remember having knotted casings was venison sausage from someone’s hunting got processed.

But that wouldn’t be white, venison sausage is usually a vivid red.

Now that I’m in a sausage state of mind, does anyone have recommendations for the D. C. area?
