What kind or razor do you use and why?

Sensor Excel (tried the Mach 3, but the Excel does a better job at a cheaper price). I have a tough beard, I get maybe four shaves from a blade.

Oh, and if I have the time to do it properly, like before some formal function, I do the whole straight razor ordeal, once with the grain, and once sideways to it.

One more Sensor Excel user chiming in.

Mach 3, because it came in the mail when I turned 18. I’ve found the Turbo blades to be more comfortable, but not enough to spend the extra few bucks per package.

I use a Mach 3, because it works and it’s fast. The price doesn’t bother me much, because the blades last a very long time; I have a beard (which means that I really only use the Mach 3 to clean up my neck and cheeks), and I only have to do beard maintenance twice a week. So, a single blade can last me a couple months.

I use Venus .

I used to use excell but Venus does work a little better. Though the price is not right …

I hate disposibles.

I like Gilette Sensor. Price isn’t bad and it lasts me a while.

Ah Razors my speacialty

For shaving- Venus

Wrist- A single edge razor, doesn’t matter the brand usually some cheap generic brand, for veins and blood for little blood use a double edge blade

Arms and Legs- regular blades you pop out of razors not generic brand and not the kind of blade that is a tiny strip of metal wwith nothing to hang on too

Neck- " "

To cut out nails- single edge razor

Stomach- blades still in the razor

I use a Mach 3, because I got it free in the mail. Apparently there’s some partnership between Gilette and the gubbmint to send men a free razor on their 18th birthday. A “Congratulations, you’re a man, here’s your razor, now go register for the draft!” thing.

I use Mach 3. Why? Got it free and also because its much much better than those tacky disposables.

Shave thrice a week and one blade lasts me 10 shaves.

I’ve used a Gillette Mach 3 since the first time I tried one, shortly after their introduction.

Why?
I can get 7-10 shaves from a single Mach 3 cartridge. Disposables are good for one shave, sometimes not even that.

It’s the only razor I’ve ever tried in 20 years that did not leave my skin feeling like I had just spent the last five minutes forcefully applying a rasp.

Gillette Sensor, gives me a good solid shave, no nicks (usually) and a much better price than the Mach3. I’ve considered going to a single blade “safety razor” the old style ones, but haven’t taken the leap yet.

I’ve tried most all of them and continue to use the basic safety razor. Why? I have a pretty tough beard and they give me a closer shave than anything else, plus a pack of 12 blades costs about a buck. I can’t remember the last time I got a nick. I have a bunch of old Gilettes and an old Hoffritz that I was using until my wife bought me a Geo Trumper razor for father’s day. It is worth every cent. Incredible razor. For my early birthday present last week, she got me a nice badger brush and some Trumper soaps to go with it, and I gotta tell ya. Shaving is an absolute luxury now. Last night, I used the brush and soap on the wife’s legs and she was amazed at the difference, and enjoyed it so much that she is considering getting her own brush and soap from them.

Shaving is no longer a chore, but a luxury that I actually look forward to each day. It is like my very own little mini-spa. Just whipping up a lather is relaxing.

I’ve used the Gillette Sensor for a while, I just can’t buy into the whole supersonic “Mach 3” concept. Shaving in the shower has always worked best for me.

Gillette Attra blades on a heavy metal handle. Much easier to use than the light plastic handles.

Used with soap applied with a camel hair brush.

I use the Sensor as well.

My wife bought me a Mach 3, but I can’t stand it. It’s too big and silly. I never really thought the shave was very good from it anyway.

Mach 3 Turbo. My beard is like steel wool and that’s the only razor that will shave it without tearing up my face.

My buddy Speed uses a Mach 5.

I think he mostly uses it to make out with his girlfriend.

I’ve always wanted to try a cutthroat but the amount of nicks I give myself with safety razors make me fear for my life should I try it.

Disposable razors cut up my face bad. I’m so glad I grew up when I did. Right when I was hitting shaving age was when they started introducing these fancy razors.

I use a Mach 3 Turbo. I’m a white male with patchy facial hair. I only shave once or twice a week, so the blades last a couple of months. With the crappy disposables, I pretty much had to lather my face up so as not to risk dying from blood loss. With the Mach 3 and similar razors, it’s been over five years since I’ve used anything other than plain water to shave!

I hate shaving. The problem is, I hate facial hair more than I hate shaving.

Any disposible I’ve ever used, cuts the hell out of my face (and I’ve used them all) - mostly because I have to take 4 or 5 swipes with a disposible because one swipe simply doesn’t cut it. Any electric shaver just plain doesn’t work by itself. It removes a certain amount of hair but I don’t end up as smooth as I’d like.

I end up shaving with an electric and cleaning things up with a disposible, it doesn’t matter which one. I’m using one with 3 blades right now but it isn’t a mach 3, think it’s called a Schick Extreme 3 or something?
