What Madame Defarge Has Been Up To Lately -- A Yarny MMP

Didn’t see your post at the end of the last MMP, Heff… We’re reading Water for Elephants. It’s really good; different from anything I’ve ever read. Also sometimes quite depressing…

(Or should I find some way to make this an argument with you? I hear you’re craving attention.)

Gotta go read some more, then water plants, then off to work…

Are we sure it’s not Friday?

GT

Pretty sure. Although it is Wednesday, which for me is **like **Thursday ('cos I work Sunday->Thursday,) and Thursday is almost Friday… so, it’s that >< close. Hang in there.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Make the rain stop…

I checked weather.com and it says it’s going to be decent on Saturday, so I guess I should get myself off my ass and Go Someplace on Saturday. Or something.

Mommy, can I go to bed now?

Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. That’s about all I have to report right now.

I owe, I owe, it’s off to work I go…

Nava, you go to work right now young lady!

**BooFae[//b], I suggested you sell 'im indoors to Meeks. If you want to just give him away, then fine.

Doggio, today I would willingly give him away, I’ll even throw in some home-made fudge (when I get the chance to make some) and I’ll cover the shipping costs…just as long as I get some sleep in return.

But I AM at work! Asleep at the keyboard as it were. I can’t sleep by day but three days of rain sure make me s-sh–shhh-leeppy…

There don’t even appear to be any crisis going on, amazingly enough. I think the customers are half-asleep too.

“Working from home” was invented for days like this.

Good grief, Heff-a-Roo and Special1 - get a room, would ya?
It’s humid. . . . too humid.
That is all.

Heh, that’s the easy part… have you seen the prices of trans-Atlantic flights this summer!?

SwampBrew, you’re slipping, dude. No nuclear annihilation in Mayberry last night. From the time I got home, to when I left for work, there was only one page and that was for the county magistrate.

I got some bragging to do. I took a practice final last night for the EMT class. There were 150 multiple guess questions, and 2 hours to complete. A score of 105 was necessary to pass. I was done in 25 minutes, and got a raw score of 116. You might think that was rather bad, but keep in mind, I haven’t opened the book for 2 months. What that tells me is that if I had the certification exam last night instead, I would have passed it.

After the class finished, 12 questions were tossed out because they were outside of the scope of what we covered. I got 6 of them right anyway, and added 6 points to my score for the others, bringing me to 122. Being the overachiever that I am, I’ll wear out the book before we go for certification on 21 July. I won’t settle for less than 95%.

The chief told me to my face that he wasn’t worried about me failing.

My precept log was turned in and had less entries than I would have liked, but I also had some nasty calls I went on and performed quite well under pressure.

Tomorrow night is the class final, since this is actually taught through a community college. Wish me luck…

Happier stuff: I’m playing hookie this afternoon to head to the Outer Banks to visit friends from Indyanner who are vacationing there.

**FCM ** - I ask because I’m leaving the wife and kids and sailing around the world and was hoping to borrow a boat.

Well, not really. The reason I ask is because Welbywife and I are tossing around the idea of:

  1. Learning to sail. Well, she learning to sail, and me learning to sail something larger than an 18 footer with no equipment.
  2. Gaining some experience.
  3. Doing some cruising. Perhaps some long range cruising.

And since I’m reading and researching and what-not I thought I’d ask what you guys are sailing around. I’m nosy, mainly.

12 hours and 29 minutes until I’m on a plane to Vancouver. BOOOYA!

Just another drive by, I have been up to my armpits in salmon, both fresh and smoked, and skiffman came home unexpectedly for a couple of days and brought home another 15 sockeye to smoke. The weather was fine for three days last week, and my tulips and daffs are finally blooming, photos to come. I did the majority of my grandbaby shopping tonight online, and also bought a few dresses online, as I have Kodiak weather clothes, and Anchorage hits 80 and above in summer and I don’t want to get heatstroke and miss any time with my adult kids and the grandbaby. BTW her name is Mattea, I think it’s sweet, and I will try to link to an ultrasound photo which shows her sweet face soon.

Remember the convicted pedophile living a couple doors down from me? He was assaulted and almost (am I going to hell for wishing it wasn’t almost?) murdered by a man he had raped 30 years ago.

MamaTigs your OP was wonderful, and your work is marvelous, you are very skilled. I used to knit and crochet (and other needle work stuff like crewel) but it’s been put away for a few years. I have a new project, I copied the ripple afgan pattern and have some soft and light chenille type yarn in hot pink and black which I am going to use to make a blankie for the grandchild.

It is 4:31 am, the sun is up and the birds are singing. I need to get to bed for a few hours. Maybe I will catch up with y’all later today, stranger things have happened. All the appropriate noises, hugs to any who need them, and special thoughts and prayers to picu.

Have a special Hump Day everybody!

Mornin’ all! Glad you stopped in, Kai!

I finished up all my work yesterday, and have nothing to do today. Yet, at least. I also don’t have much to talk about…

Have a great HUMPday to those that it applies to…

Mmm, salmon.

Ugh, I am only half awake. I hate teaching 9:30 classes. I am way too used to not having to get up until 8, at the latest. Now on Mondays and Wednesdays I have to drag my sorry ass out of bed at 6:45. Blech.

Don’t convict him. Give the attacker a medal…

Sure, I already deal with snoring, what’s another one?

That and the MacAbbees (sp?) brands. That’s why I switched to Heineken, and then mixed drinks. Your local beer induced headaches after the second beer.

Wuss :stuck_out_tongue:

(Although I agree the Maccabee is, indeed, not a beer)

You wouldn’t have called me a wuss if you had seen my bar bills over there.

That’s not because you had that much to drink.
That’s because I know how awful the prices here are for us natives; I can only imagine how much they gouged you in Dollars :stuck_out_tongue:
