What Madame Defarge Has Been Up To Lately -- A Yarny MMP

I’ve got it! I figured out how to modify the poodle into a skunk. Now I just need some white yarn…

I just opened a bag of Ogre Size Peanut Butter M&Ms (ogre 'cause they’ve got Shrek all over the bag… and some of the M&Ms are ogre-green) and on the bag it says “For Swampy” and I wondered if I really should be eating them or if I had to send them to swampy.

Actually, it says “for swampy fun go to our website” but I just saw the For Swampy part at first.

I wouldn’t mind the turnips with legs so much, Haze, if this didn’t happen Every. Single. Time I’ve gotten a package delivered by the crap-ass service the reporting firm uses. I’m sure they hire them because they’re the cheapest (although you’d think at $60 a pop, they’d just bite the bullet and purchase the equipment to convert audio tapes to digital files so we could do it all painlessly over the internet), but alas, they are definitely getting what they pay for. Crap-ass service by their crap-ass drivers. Who obviously aren’t as totally illiterate as they act since they have to be able to read enough to find my house down here in the wilds of Merrylande!

Need me to send you some Red Star Super Saver white yarn, Jahdra? My Michael’s always has tons of it. So what are you doing to turn the poodle into a skunk? Because I was thinking of trying the poodle myself. Clearly, the tail would need to be different, and of course you’d have to have the stripes down the back. I’m just not quite sure what else would need to be changed.

I didn’t get the boxes in the mail today, taxi and SCL. In my defense, this transcript I have to finish (A, because it’s already late, and B, because I can’t start the congressional drivel till I do) is running long; I’m still not done with it. I’m getting seriously peeved about it, too. I need to take a month’s vacation and do nothing but clean house and knit, is what I need to do. Can I please win the lottery so I can afford to?

Anybody else picturing Jah as a mad scientist with a laboratory in the basement?

I was wonderin’ where that bag of M&Ms got to…

Supper is et. Pizza and sallit were nummy. Where’s the rain they said we had a good chance of gettin’? I want rain.

Hey! I want some homemade fudge AND a thirty something MALE Brit.

I’ve been sick, so give it to me, dammit.

I finished one paper. Dunno how good it is, but tis hard for me to write about something that I’m meh about.
Turns out my (excuse me, THE) husband didn’t even tell his parents that I was in the hospital. They live 1 mile away. That was awkward…
#2 son is bored already. Too bad! He wanted a summer full of nothing and that’s what he gets! Plus mama is going to lay down now.

Heh. I do remember those long and tedious summer vacations. I appreciated them much more in college.

Damnit, now I want PB M&Ms. I used to wolf those things down like nothing when I was writing papers during my fall quarter. I convinced myself it was the healthier alternative to smoking a cigarette every time I got stuck for an idea.

PB m&m’s are like crack…

A “scum tell” is Mafia-speak for any kind of suspicious behavior that hints you might be scum (ie, mafia, werewolf, pirate, whatever).

I have been forced to order pizza for dinner. I blame FCM and swampy. And the fact that I actually remembered that the local really good pizza place has large, 1-item pizzas for $10 on Tuesdays. Please shoo me out the door to pick it up in 1/2 an hour (they don’t deliver, but they’re two (three?) blocks away AND fabulous).

Hey, Al, I didn’t get the feeling that LiLi felt all that threatened. Maybe Mork will have a different reaction…?

I have ogre-sized plain M&Ms. Didn’t notice whether they were for swampy, though.

rigs, was anyone actually surprised that he failed to divulge that you’d been hospitalized? Perhaps #2 son will select something different next summer? How old is he again?

All this talk of skunks and poodles is very very odd. And amusing.

Meant to say this earlier: Hope the money stuff gets straightened out, Hank. Just seems like a terribly bureaucratic way to handle something.

It’s really hot here too. It was supposed to rain yesterday and today. So far: nothing.

Well…gotta go look for pizza in a few, then it’s off to the library to return a book and attend the weekly concert, at least for a while.

Hugs…

Prize for one of the best out of context sentances I’ve ever heard I know you’re talking about some knitted creation, but all I could think was “poor poodle” and Jahdra’s become a mad scientist

okay - I wasn’t the first t react that way

I’ll take the homemade fudge and a 40-something Brit. - I’m old.

Can’t blame me. Even tho we went to Arizona Pizza, I got the Chef Salad, and my spousal unit got the spinach salad. Turns out they make good salads there.

As for the news of the neck, **FCD ** has an order for PT - for traction. Bob thinks stretching the spine out a bit will ease the pinching. In addition, he thinks the numbness of the left hand is partly due to carpal tunnel, so my poor sweetie has a double dose of ouch. He’ll go to the same place I had my PT done - they’re great, and it’s close to home, so that’s good.

I just finished watering all my house plants and my porch planters. Did I tell y’all that I planted a bunch of begonias in the big planter I made in class? Well, I did and it’s living on the porch now. So it got watered along with the mums and spider plants.

The drop-in stove that **FCD ** got is really nice! We’re going to redo the countertop in the galley (it’s a yucky mustard color right now) and extend it over where the old stove is, and that’s where we’ll drop in the new one. It’ll be super-jake! And that makes me happy. Yay!

And that’s all I’ve got for now. Is it Friday yet??

Not hardly, dammit!

There is, undoubtedly, a tear in the space-time continuum. 'Cause it should be Friday.

Yeah. We’ve got so many talented needleworkers here. Can’t someone mend that tear. Cuz I coulda sworn it was Friday!!!

Can too blame you, FCM! :stuck_out_tongue: All it took was two mentions of pizza and a flashback to my colleague’s desk this afternoon (which housed a pizza box from the pizza shop in question). Doesn’t matter what you actually ate… :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

Off to read the book group book. There’s a chance I’ll finish it before the meeting (which I’ve completely failed at the last couple times).

Back with progress report later.

is anyone (besides me) watching The Universe on the History Channel?

I’ll leave the fudge and take a 67 year old Brit. Sigh, if only he were singing to me…

I got to see puppies!

does happy puppy dance

They are about the size of my hand, and black and white and have pink noses that will turn black. And they grunt! Widdle puppy grunts!

I also got some earring cards to put my earring cards on for display. So I’ve been working on that.

Haze - I’m in the Cult game, too. Hope you’re on my side!

My librarian friend went to the ALA conference in (I think) D.C. and brought me back some beautiful turquiose and coral beads. The coral beads are huge! They aren’t going to be for sale; I’m going to make myself a necklace out of them.

The show is a week from tomorrow and I am just about finished making beads. I still have to get some more clasps for necklaces and some more post backs for earrings, but I think I see a light at the end of the tunnel. Let’s hope it’s not a train…

We were, but FCD fell asleep on the couch, so I chased him off to bed, and I turned on the Daily Show… And now, I’m about to join my sweetie in snoozy-land. :o <— yawn
 Nighty night!

I am watching Pretty in Pink, after watching Whale Rider…I’m on a movie kick.

Stomach is still wonky. Cough is fading. Still tired.

I wanna Brit–I’m not picky as to age. Employed is a must, as are good teeth.

103 degrees out when I left at 5 PM this afternoon. I kid you not.
