What mental musical mash-ups have you made? Also, what is this memory?

For the last day or so, I have had a clip from a song going through my head. After forcing myself to remember more of the song, I googled the lyrics I came up with and found that it is probably “Will You Love Me Tomorrow”, by Carol King.

Problem is, not all of my memory of the lyrics fits. Looking at the listing, and at a site about confused lyrics, it seems I actually inserted the lyrics from a similar sounding song into my memory of this one. The non-matching lyrics are as follows “I want you, to wear my ring, I want to hear the church bells ring” or something similar. Maybe it is simply a cover of the song, with more lyrics, I don’t know.
Also, I doubt I am the only one to have done this. What other songs have people mistakenly made into a medley?

I tend to make songs into loops instead of mashing them together. I’ll get a song in my head, then get stuck in the middle of verse two and just hear that over and over. Not because I don’t know the ending - I’ll just miss some transition or other.

There are some AC/DC songs I find interchangeable, but that’s because they really are interchangeable. You can take any two of their songs, mash them together, and get a third.

One morning, when I was really tired, I mashed “Hey Jude” into the theme from the original Batman series. I’d love to record that some time.

I do this all the time, and have for decades. I look for ways to merge one song into another, in case I ever get to be in a position to perform medleys of this kind with a group again. I don’t think of it as unusual. Actually, it’s pretty entertaining to me! I wish people could hear what’s in my head!

Whenever I try singing that stereotypical Russian song about fields it turns techno towards the end.

Interesting. However, I still would liek to knwo where the hell those lyrics came from, so:

BUMP!
