What movie is this scene from?

When I was a kid my parents were really laissez faire about my TV viewing with the exception of nudity and sex, go figure. Stephen King Is ok, but boobs and butts are not.

This occurred in the late 90s when I was between 7-9 years old. I have no idea what the plot or even genre it was. This is all I remember:

*A woman, possibly African American, is walking down a staircase like she’s making a grand entrance.
*She is wearing a long flowing gown, sort of like a wedding dress.
*The building is on fire, with fabric (curtains? drapes?) going up in flames around her.
*She has lost an arm or hand and all you see is a bloody stump. She is sort of in a trance/stupor and doesn’t appear to notice the missing limb.

I don’t remember if this was part of a dream or what. But it gave me nightmares for days.

Could it have been a comedy? Carol Burnett, perhaps (though I’m not recalling any particular scene, but I can imagine her doing another GWtW parody featuring “while Atlanta burns”).

Could it be the Bruce Willis movie “The Siege”? That film has a scene where a Broadway theatre has been bombed and a well-dressed woman descends a staircase looking dazed, she turns around and her arm is missing.

That is it! Thank you.

I just recently re watched that movie. It holds up and became more relevant post 9/11 and even more so now.

It was the first movie I watched after 9/11, I’m weird that way.
