In a different direction,
Twilight : 4.9, 5.9
Divergent: 6.4, 7.3
Sex and the City: 4.9, 6.6
I suspect if there’s a bigger spread on a movie than that last one, it isn’t by much.
ETA Ghostbusters 2016: 4.9, 6.4. Close.

May I say, you have exceptionally good taste. L.A. Story is not very well known, but I love it. It’s clearly a rom-com, and there’s not much action, but there’s something charmingly goofy about it.
More recent movies will have to be pro-rated due to potential review bombing. A lot of the male downvotes are likely motivated by things other than the actual quality of the movie.
Tombstone
When Harry met Sally
City Slickers
The Fugitive
Not according to my Think Tank …otherwise known as Older Dads Who Wind Up At The Bar After Supper. We think that people (and Hollywood fat cats) assume that “guys like this, but gals like the opposite”.
If men like explosions more, and women like “meet cutes” more, that leaves a huge middle ground of movies we can’t call a Guy Movie or a Chick Flick.
Since My Cousin Vinny was already mentioned, I’ll add The Sixth Sense.
There are some romances and romantic comedies that appeal to both men and women, like When Harry Met Sally, Once, and Roman Holiday.
Titanic is mostly a chick-flick. The guys are waiting 90-minutes for the iceberg to hit. It’s a disaster movie (guy thing) with a romantic story tacked on to fill time.
Everyone loves The Princess Bride though. And The Wizard of Oz.
I think it’s bullshit to think guys aren’t into romantic stories, macho-posturing aside.
I’m a man and I am a sucker for romantic stories. Especially rom-coms. So cheesy but I like them.
I found the romance for Titanic to just be filler though. They had to do something other than sink the ship else it would be more documentary.
What surprises me is that women only give it a 6.6. I would imagine there would be possible movies that women REALLY liked, but men didn’t (or the opposite.)
What is the most recent movie listed - 5 yrs ago?
North By Northwest
Clue
Murder mysteries aren’t very gendered, are they? I’d think movies like Knives Out are pretty equal in their fandom.
What about the Star Wars and Star Trek franchises?
All great suggestions.
My Wife and I share our taste in movies, music and just about everything except mushrooms on pizza.
I did not see American Beauty suggested above, so I’ll suggest that.
At last - a relatively recent suggestion.
Made me think of the Roger Craig James Bond movies. I could imagine those having wide gender appeal.
Roger Moore + Daniel Craig?
Rocky Horror
I think the James Bond movies in general have a lot of cross-gender appeal, much more than most action movies.
Young Frankenstein
Blazing Saddles
