This morning I was doing some housework and had CNN on, only half paying attention to it. They were having a segment on Queen Elizabeth’s visit to NYC. As they transitioned from commercials to programming, there was some music playing. Then they showed the two anchors, one of whom was John Roberts. He looked very embarrassed, and commented that the music was totally inappropriate, and he apologized.
So . . . what was the song, and why was it offensive?
It couldn’t have been as offensive as her last visit to the U.S., when President Gerald Ford danced with her, while the band played “The Lady is a Tramp.”
Bonus question: Who the hell chooses the wardrobe for the Queen? Her mother (Queen Mum) had a wonderful sense of style. Does this skip a generation? Photo (3rd from the top).
