Although this may come off as a homer, I gotta say the Seahawks. Their big competition was the 49res and they suck this year. I mean, it’s one thing to lose in Seattle but to lose in Indy by 20. I don’t think the 49ers will have much home field advantage in SF. Seahawks play the NFC South which sucks except for New Orleas - who they get at home!
Meanwhile the Broncos play KC at Arrowhead and even Denver sport radio is saying that’s an upset waiting to happen and of course they play New England away.
Well, Denver did look really good this week. But also look at the preseason game between the two. Seattle destroyed them. Sure, just preseason, but I think you got to put them in the “same league.”
Peyton’s been burned by that logic before. If they get the opportunity (they won’t - they’ll lose to the Chefs at least once), Manning will want to be on the field each week.
I think best case scenario for the Broncos is something like 1998 where they went 13-0 and then 14-2 overall. It’s really freaking hard to go undefeated. Besides, if you lose in the regular season at least you can’t be remembered as the 18-1 Patriots.
This may sound crazy, but the Bears have a chance at it. The only tough games on their schedule look to be the Saints (in Soldier Field yay) and of course two against the Pack.
They also play the Ravens and Dallas, but I don’t think the Ravens are all that strong and the Bears have shown they can handle Dallas many times.
I would expect the better D to have a better chance. Right now, that looks to be the SeaChickens. But Denver’s D is also playing really well right now.
Realistically? Neither team, but I voted Denver anyways.
No way, man. I live in SF, and am inundated with minutiae about the team, and made a pre-season prediction of 7-9 for them. Their injuries have been crippling, even before the season started.
