Tatu’s cool in the sense that they actually encapsulate the entire slutty schoolgirl marketing ploy with no attempts at coyness (witness Britney Spears’ schoolgirl phase & the fact that the manager decided on their gimmick before casting the two girls)… and hey, who doesn’t dig their cover of ‘How Soon Is Now’?

Yay for Lord of The Rings!! I liked the Matrix intro and Gollum’s speech was over the top but I too thought the performances were rather weak. I did think the cartoon concept was kind of cool though.

Best Kiss Award should be banned from kissing for 10 years. Its’ become cliche. Exceptions will be made for two very hot women or a very weird couple (say, Busta Rhymes and Martha Stewart).
Was anyone else surprised that they showed Patrick Swayze’s bare ass? I actually turned it on just as he was standing up buck naked out of bed, and I thought I had hit the jackpot by getting some free porn for the night.

Yoda- The only part that didn’t suck absolute undiluted ass was “Play Yoda off, you will not,” but the fact that it actually SHOULD have ended there hurt things.
Best Kiss- Am I alone among hetero males in not finding Kirsten Dunst attractive in the least? And what the hell is up with her dis on Daredevil during the acceptance speech? You are supposed to be accepting the award, maybe thanking a person or two, not slapping your competitors in the face.
Will Smith, Marin Lawerence, Tyrese, Paul Walker- I realize you probably didn’t write your God-awful speeches advertising your respective films, but you truly should have had more self-respect than that.
Hosting- Could have been better, definitely. Especially if the whole thing wasn’t aimed more at Dance Boy. SWS should have kissed Justizzin Timberlizzake. That would have been classic…JT either goes with it and feeds any homosexual rumors or doesn’t and gets GLAAD after him.
Best Villain- When will Daniel Day Lewis get recognized? Honestly!
An “adorable” girl is not the best villain. You should be frightened, and quaking in your boots when a true villain speaks, not grinning because she’s adorable. “You see this knife? I will teach you to speak English with this fucking knife!” I’d be a little more scared hearing that than a nine year old girl telling me “seven days”

Gollum acceptance speech- Andy Sirkis on tape thanks MTV & all who voted for him & the LOTR people, and then Gollum grabs the award from him & goes into a Slinker/Stinker rant “MTV’s my friend;You don’t have any friends! Nobody likes you!; Dobby likes me!; Dobby?!? F* Dobby! Dobby’s a fing faggot!.." and then he rants on & on against Peter Jackson ("fing hack!”) & the whole movie-making experience, and then leaves with a cheery Goodbye.
I was gasping/laughing so hard.

i totally took that a different way. i thought she was saying that the kiss from daredevil and punch drunk love were the best in the group and she couldn’t really understand why she and toby won. i need to watch that again.
all in all pretty ho hum. the best part for me though was queen latifah and adrien brody spoofing on adrien’s kissing halle berry at the oscars.
Andy Serkis’/Gollum’s speech was pretty much the highlight of the show for me. The rest was all pretty lame, with a few funny high points.
And maybe it’s just me, but even though I’m a Harrison Ford fan, his bit with Josh Hartnett (sp?) was deeply stupid. I know, it’s laregly the writer’s fault, but you’d think somebody wouldn’ve caught that dog before it got out…
