What odd things do you enjoy smelling or tasting or doing?

Burnt hair. Did a lot of fire performance in college, and being a fairly hairy guy would inevitably end up burning something (usually the hair on the back of my hands). I’d sniff those bad boys all night.

Ahh. I’m not the only one, then. Do you like it for the same reason as me? I had a couple or three pedicures, back when I had disposable income, and they did one *helluva *job rubbing my feet and calves and shin. Ever since then, the overall smell of all the chemicals in a nail salon all together like that seriously turns me on.

And a non-smoker here chiming in that the smell of a freshly-lit cigarette is indeed awesome. (Even better, though, is the smell of a candle that was just snuffed out, although I suspect that that one doesn’t come into the “odd” category.)

Still not as good as onion-hands, though. :stuck_out_tongue:

All of that, except the skunk odor.

I also love the smell of freshly copied paper. It’s warm, and there’s something about the smell…

Slapped my knee to this one a few times.

2-stroke gasoline. Ran a lot of chainsaws when I was younger. Also, someone else welding. Australian Mulga trees. Freshly slaughtered sheep have a particular scent that’s hard to peg. It ain’t meat, and it ain’t sheep. It’s insides mostly.

I like the smell of recently snuffed birthday candles, cats, clothes from an Op shop (the strange scent of deodorant/washing powder that I don’t use), and old books.

I remembered my weird tasting thing yesterday - I like the taste of orange juice after brushing my teeth. It’s so…tart.

Smell of the air in the fall in the IL farm country. Combines & trucks carrying the grains to the elevators, with the occasional whiff of diesel and the dusty smell of cut soybeans and corn.

Cut grass.

Wild cherry blossoms.

Coffee, but I don’t drink it.

Burnt gun powder & Hoppe’s #9 gun solvent.

Females.

Diesel exhaust.

I don’t know why, but I enjoy the musky smell. Curiously (or perhaps not), I do not enjoy the smell of gasoline whatsoever.

I quite enjoy the smell of chlorine, especially that emanating from swimming pools…

The smell of my sweaty and talc-y buttcrack, as carried by my fingers. Doesn’t smell like poo at all, but like some weird combination of smoky salmon and bacon. With ginger.

I love the smell of vinyl records (the smell inside the LP cover).

Also, I love the smell of old magazines and books (Not the musty smell, the old paper smell).
