i bet the rent is less too.
RE: the OP,
Is anyone still counting? What’s the tally?
It makes sense in my head
Oh, and The Hunt for Red October was one long dream sequence.
That makes sense - it sent me to sleep.
At the moment, guys it looks like the weekend of the 26th April seems to fit most people’s agendas… Is that cool with people?
Can’t do that one unfortunately (friend’s birthday in London). Have fun in Brum though!
yeah - i could do that.
The Demon Robin will ferry me to the industrial delights of Brum.
They say that the canals in Venice are helping it sink into the sea, and Brum has more canals than that…must be some reason…can’t think why anyone would want so many canals in Brum…
Birmingham has 22 more miles of canal than Venice. See? I don’t just know about Doctor Who, I know useful stuff, too. By some definition of “useful”.
so if it has 22 more miles of canal, percentage-wise how many more “floating used johnnies” does that equate to?
if you know that one Steve Wright then i’ll be bloody impressed.
Can do it, but not ideal. Won’t be quite as good if Crusoe can’t make it. However, the main factor here is whether or not, on that date, the wonderful Tansu can attend in the PVC jeans that she has just declared she can fit into (in the separate thread about SDMB weight loss club). I mean, let’s get our priorities right.
Oh, BTW, Steve Wright, are the Who episodes featuring Menoptera, Zarbie and the ‘Wild West’ among those available on video? If yes, do you possess any of these?
The Web Planet, with the Menoptra and Zarbi, was one of the earliest Hartnell stories to be released on video … I think it’s been discontinued in the UK, but might be available in America, have to check. I would imagine by now it’s on the list for DVD release, but I don’t know when … The Gunfighters came out quite recently, as part of a three-video boxed set containing all the previously unreleased (and still intact) Hartnell stories (the other two are The Sensorites and The Time Meddler). Naturally, I treated myself to this one … still have the Web Planet tapes somewhere, too …
Suddenly I’m wondering what I can pawn in order to afford a return ticket to Brum. Especially if she’s going to do that thing with the pint glass again…
If the web planet isn’t slatted to be released on dvd yet, then i do have a barely watched copy on official bbc video that i can honestly say i have never watched.
i’m quite happy for it to go to a good home.
Ah. I seem to have mistakenly set myself up as Official Forum Bimbo.
Want to swap for Official Forum SF Trivia Geek … ? Didn’t think so.
Is this a problem? I mean, I would have gone for the job myself but I missed the application deadline.
Can’t do 12th April (pole-dancing day at Spearmint Rhino when everyone laughs their socks off at me), can’t do easter weekend, and can’t do 10th May. Apart from that, I’m fairly flexible but I’m still not going to Lunnon!
hmmmm I’ll chime in… American Ex-pat in Bucks, I should be able to do a dopefest but alas I have no name points and few know me
Hattrick you have to come - you can be the token yank that everyone bitches to when drunk:
“sho wa i dun like ish why you yanksh alwaysh shteel our wimmin. one shec i’m gonna go flir’ wish tanshu…”
