“Frasier” featured an episode set in Boston that was a de facto “Cheers” reunion…
In fact, Fraiser had various episodes on it’s run with all of the cast members of Cheers except for Kirstie Alley, who wouldnt go on for religious reasons.(Scientology)
Cheers is actually one of the few shows that I liked to watch that I don’t think needs a reunion. Frasier had enough episodes where the characters from Cheers came to visit that I felt like we caught up with them pretty well (and they had become boring) including one episode where Frasier returned to Boston and attended Cliff’s retirement party- the main characters of Cheers who were not present were spoken of (much like at a high school reunion) and the audience was made aware of what had happened when they moved on. I felt like that gave plenty of closure for Cheers and like I know where those characters would be today. But I guess if one hadn’t watched Frasier then a reunion could be fun.
One show that I think would be fun to see a reunion is the original cast of That 70s Show. I quit watching it way before it ended so I am not sure how the finale went or if there was one, but I’d like to see the same character as they would be in the 2000s and where their lives led.
ETA; And once again it pays to read other’s posts during the preview; then I would not have repeated so much information! Sorry about that.
Star Trek TNG would be the one Trek should I’d like to see. At the end, the characters pretty much stayed together unlike the other shows. I think they’d still be having fun adventurers for years to come, until all that stuff in the movies happened.
I thought this when the series ended and I still think so. Malcolm in the Middle would make an interesting reunion show. Malcolm’s in Harvard, Reese is getting into trouble as a permanent janitor at school, I forget what the others were up to though. But the fact that Lois forced Malcolm into Harvard to use his genius brain to become president so they could help middle class families like them intrigues me.
Do you mean a reunion show were the cast gets together and just talks about it or they actually do another episode?
The only two newly remade reuions I thought were good were Return to Mayberry and Still the Beaver
I would like to see a Mama’s Family reunion. I was so sorry the cancelled it just at the point where Naomi had her baby. I’d have loved to see Mama and newborn.
My idea for a Hogan’s Heroes reunion was to see them at an actual reunion after the war, then a long flashback to some complicated job they pulled just as the war was ending, then back at the reunion they finally meet the mastermind who planned their entire operation.
For many years, I’ve waited in wild anticipation for a reunion show for Me and the Chimp—that zany American sitcom from 1972 starring Ted Bessell as a frustrated dentist and his adorably mischievous chimp, “Buttons”. While the logistics of developing a heart-touching reunion show is still quite possible, the current incarnation may lack a bit of the original’s light-hearted zaniness.
