I had no idea Ted Bessell had any fans. Really, it’s inconceivable.

That could work, too, except with Schultz there wouldn’t be any sense of risk or participation. With Klink, it’s more of a balancing act. If Hogan is ever caught, or if there are too many unexplained commando raids in the neighborhood of Stalag 13, Klink is off to the Russian Front. Also, how many times did Hogan get the information he needed by listening to the bug in Klink’s office? Now think of Klink being in on it, manipulating General Burkhalter to spill the beans knowing the Hogan is listening. He could have been playing Hogan in a way that happy-go-lucky Schultz couldn’t.
Why did L Ron Hubbard’s ghost object to Frasier?
Scientology is extremely anti-psychiatry/psychology (pretty much the same way fundamentalist Christians object to evolution). In Alley’s view, “Frasier” wasn’t sufficiently anti-psychiatrist enough for her to do a guest shot (unlike the character on “Cheers” where he frequently came across as an over-educated buffoon).
A “Roseanne” reunion would be great, but just this week, Sara Gilbert (Darlene) said, on Twitter, that she’d never do it. Tampering with something best left as it is, or some such.
Of course, she and Laurie Metcalf have recurring roles on Johnny Galecki’s series “Big Bang Theory” so it’s a semi-reunion of sorts when they’re on the show.
A lot of shows seem to do this- reuniting actors who had played characters on different shows together- but does that really count as a “reunion” even of sorts when they are now playing entirely different characters?
Courtney Cox’s new show, Cougartown had an appearance by Lisa Kudrow playing a doctor (plastic surgeon I think) and the commercials were touting it as a Friends reunion. I was all
because how could it be a Friends reunion when it didn’t involve any of the “Friends”. It was maybe a reunion of the two actresses, but that’s the most I will give them.
I too would love to see a DS9 reunion. They left the door open for it at the end of the series. We already got a little preview of what Jake’s life would be like via “The Visitor” and I have to believe that Kira would get tired and settle down on the station after the war ended, so the opening shot of a reunion show (reunion series?) is already put together in my head.
The abbreviated final season of China Beach was set in the 1980’s and showed what the characters were doing years after the war ended (it also used flashbacks to link it to the wartime era).
How about TJ Hooker? Shatner is still acting and Heather Locklear is currently on Melrose Place. Adrian Zmed is still acting too. James Darren hasn’t done much since Deep Space Nine (played singer Vic Fontaine). He might agree to a reunion of TJ Hooker.
Shatner did more Hooker episodes (90) then Star Trek (79).
This being the SDMB, I’m shocked nobody’s mentioned Arrested Development yet.
There was talk of a movie a while back but my gut says it’s not gonna happen…
Even more shocking is no one has mentioned *Twin Peaks *yet.
I’d also love to see an *Adventures of Brisco County Jr. *reunion movie. Co-creator Carlton Cuse will be finishing up Lost soon, so he’ll have some free time. It would be a hoot to see what Brisco and Bowler were doing circa 1900 (IIRC, the series was set in the 1880s).
There was one “Man from U.N.C.L.E.” reunion movie back in 1983 that wasn’t as good as it could have been (despite the appearance of the great Anthony Zerbe) because Robert Vaughn and David McCallum weren’t on screen together very often. Perhaps they could try again.
The series “Vegas” ended with a lot of loose plot threads.
With the death of Pernell Roberts , any chance of a Bonanza reunion goes out the window.
I’d like to know what happened to everyone on Hill Street Blues. And going with the cop theme, a serious (instead of slapstick) followup to Starsky and Hutch would be great.
And whatever happened to the Fresh Prince kid?
StG
They did TWO reunions, they’re called: “Deadwood” and “Tombstone”
(rim shot)
I’ll second this. I hear Mr. Wick has done pretty well for himself.
A little off the topic, but I’d like to see a Drew Carey reunion but with combining the characters with what the actors went on to do, so Drew would have quit his job and become a game show host, Kate is now married and divorced from a doctor at Sacred Heart, Lewis is married to Judith (from Two and a Half Men) while Mr. Wick has become a comedian, MiMi has become a cop (from her appearances on My Name is Earl) and Oswald is now renown for teaching martial arts (Rex Kwan Do- Napoleon Dynamite).
I think they could get a whole new series out of a reunion of this sort explaining how each character got there etc. and it could start and end with all of them sitting in Drew’s living room drinking Buzz beer and reminiscing about old times.
Wow! I was an extra in the pilot. I’ve never heard anyone mention that show.
I’ll show up at a bar for a reunion.
Gilmore Girls. There was talk of a TV movie to tie the loose ends together a bit better than the hasty finale, but alas, this has not happened.
Seconded. And Palin should definitely be in the plot. I wouldn’t mind seeing it brought back as a series- they don’t really need Fleischman and O’Connell so long as they have the same sets and maybe Hollin/Shelley/Maurice for continuity.
I read somewhere there’s talk of a “reality” update of LAVERNE AND SHIRLEY starring Cindy Williams and Penny Marshall as themselves sharing an apartment somewhere (Milwaukee?). I’m guessing that one’s not going to come to fruition either.
I honestly think a MAS*H reunion could work. Just set it at a MASH reunion, ca. 1985 in a hotel somewhere. Most of the cast is still alive. The reunion could be set in Missouri so that the 4077 vets could see Colonel Potter on his own turf- last time I saw Harry Morgan on an interview (a couple of years ago admittedly) he seemed feeble but alert in his 90s.
