What other trades or professions get rings?

My hubby is a CET and he wears a ring on his pinky which I believe is made out of aluminum. I know that engineers wear one that is made out of I think iron (?).

Are there any other ring-bearing professions out there?

Gold or platinum for grads with a MRS.

My father and both of my elder brothers are engineers. None of them wears an iron ring. They all are married so they do wear gold rings.

Super Bowl winners and popes.

The iron ring is a Canadian Engineering tradition. I don’t believe that other countries do it.

Looking forward to my ring in about a year.

Bishops too.

There is a similar group in the US that uses smooth, stainless steel rings, but it is not as popular as the Iron Ring groups in Canada (which rarely use actual iron rings).

I got mine less than 5 years ago and it already doesn’t fit.

World Series winners got rings long before there was a Superbowl.

Certain Elven kings (and queens), Dwarf lords, select mortal men, and of course, the Dark Lord.

But not always. During the many Yankee championship years they began to branch out. I’ve seen WS rifles and such when the rings were piling up.

Circus

People who work with radioactive materials with their hands get fun little dosemetry rings to wear at work. We get new ones every month, some people twice a month if their position calls for it.

CET?

Cincinnati Educational Television?

Yes please,
What is a CET? New term for me and Google didn’t help.

QtM: how could you leave off a few Hobbits and Istari?

Certified engineering technologist.

Thank You.

And… what’s a certified engineering technologist?

Hobbits are mortal men, IMHO. The single istari was a special case.

We called them Junior Engineers, But they didn’t like that.
**QtM **Debatable if Hobbits are mortal men but I guess that is for another thread.
