We’ve all heard by now that the Lone Star Iconoclast, the paper of President Bush’s adopted home town of Crawford, Texas, has endorsed John Kerry for president. I’d be curious to know who his real home town of New Haven, Connecticut is endorsing. In fact, I’d like to know who every paper is endorsing. I’ve done a few searches and have learned that papers don’t usually endorse candidates until after the debates are over. Still, some must have done some endorsements by now, right?
I realize that this could turn into a Great Debate or even a Pit thread, but it seems factual to me, and I’d really like to know: is there anywhere that’s collecting the names of the papers that have endorsed candidates yet? I ran across a Florida paper endorsing Betty Castor for the U.S. Senate today, but they had nothing on the president. I wouldn’t mind knowing Senate or House endorsements, plus endorsements for governor, where applicable.
If anyone has a lead on this information, lemme know. Thanks!
