On a thread about Romances or attraction between humans and non-humans some yaoi fangirls came out of the closet, myself included, (you know what I mean) to defend the pairing in Trigun. Well, when I say some, I mean Tremorviolet and myself. She said:
Why? I wouldn’t feel constrained not talk about my favorite non-hetereo pairing if I saw a (hypothetical) discussion entitled “Who is better for Heero? Relena or Sally?”
There must be more fans of non-hetero romances here, considering the……Hey! Look over there!

Alternately, this could turn into a "You know you’re a (non-hetero fandom) fan when: thread. Same result.

We’ve kinda done this kinda recently, here and one I started, here. I tend not to go on about it much on this board because it’s much more general and there are plenty of boards just for the fangirls. It’s the type of obsessive thing that bores the general reader…

Speaking of which, what are those sites you go to? I usually lurk on shoujoai.com and…what? I’ve been reading Digimon fanfition on fanfiction.net, I’ve forgotten what forums I used to go to to discuss yaoi.
Well, I mostly read original yaoi works, not doujinshi (as far as manga goes) and it’s tough to get info. Aestheticism is a good resource tho’ it’s not updated a lot and I also belong to the AMLA (Aestheticism ML-Alpha) Yahoo group although traffic can be erratic. Slash-kun runs an info site with release dates and reviews and is also a penpal of mine. Plus there are a bunch of scanlation sites (you can find a list at Tokudane) and some of them have message boards.
For fic, the only anime pairings I like are Gundam Wing, so I lurk on the Gundam Wing BBS. Dacia has one of the best Gundam archives around but it’s all yaoi, not yuri.
For slash, I’m currently obsessed with Stargate Atlantis and belong to two Yahoo groups and lurk on numerous Live Journal communities.
But, I guess I don’t really spend much time discussing yaoi/slash, I just read it…
