What really stupid things do you think less of people for?

I can’t believe I’m the first one to say this, but: chain e-mails!!!

I am so sick and tired of seeing some sort of “Someone’s thinking of you. Your smile makes the world a happier place! Now e-mail this to 5 other people.” Thanks, I think I’ll delete it.

You know, I should have thought of this years ago: I’ll e-mail back to the person who mailed it to me, but instead of the syrupy stupid thing, I’ll attach one of those despair.com posters.

People who pronounce Mario as “merry-o.” WTF, people?

People who don’t recycle, especially if it’s really easy to do.

I just walked in to my office kitchen to see a couple of boxes mashed up in the garbage (they were restocking coffee of something). The paper recycling bin is about 15 steps away. I took it all out and put it into the recycling, but COME ON. I almost sent an email. I’m still thinking about doing it anyhow.

Nevermind. (Referencing a disappeared post.)

Eh? Isn’t that the normal way of pronouncing it in English?

AFAIK that would be Mar-ee-oh.

What makes it disturbing is naming the next kid “Nagaina”.

Since there’s probably 60 different ways to pronounce “Mar” to be a little more clear:

Mar as in “Mars” or the “Ma” pronounced like “Mah” (or the Southern “Can I go to the fair Ma? Pa [same sound] said to check with you.”

I don’t anthromorphize animals - but you are simply factually wrong to state that they can’t hold grudges. Cats most certainly can, and do.

Strangers who won’t return a nod, smile, or “hello” when you pass them in the hallway or another public place. Obviously, things like night-time streets or alleys are excepted.

Cool.

Personally, I don’t think that qualifies as stupid.

That reminds me: people who pronounce Moreno and Marino the same. Well, not everyone, but at least people who studied at least one week’s worth of Spanish ever in their lives.

Teens and adults who like the Teletubbies. Sadly, I’m not joking.
To a lesser extent: anyone who obsesses over pets and/or babies.

I don’t know if it’s “stupid”, but when I hear adults talk about school (especially high school) traumas as if they still matter… yeah, I lose a little bit of disrespect.

I lose respect for those who use double negatives.

Or is that a Malapropism?

:smack:

(I’ll blame the lateness of the hour. Or my biorhythms. Or something).

What does ‘PDS’ mean in this context?

Pretty Damn Stupid.

I think.

Yes, Sir.
