what resolution are you running at?

Here at work, 800x600 because they’re cheap.

Home, 1600x1200 on one machine and 1024x768 on the other.

1024x768 at 32 bpp at 80 Hz.

I can’t maintain that refresh rate at higher resolutions…

19" 1024x768 32bbp 100Hz
15" 800x600 32bbp 85Hz

Home version:
800 x 600
Western Digital, paleologic version.
Sony 15 inch squinter.

At work, I use a real computer, but of course I don’t check the boards then…(feels nose to see if it’s growing).

Actually, I was going to ask myself. I’m at 1024x768.

It seems some screens are still designed for the lowest common denominator of 640x480 - 256 color.

If anyone here is still doing that lo-res stuff, cut it out! It just makes screen with a blank right side for the rest of us.

Your computer is capable of more, trust me. The defaults are just set low for no reason. Raise the resolution. If it makes the icons look too small, change them to Large or use the Control Panel/ Display/ Appearance/ Item pulldown to Icon, set size to 48.

See, now your screen looks better, and when all of the low-resers are gone we will all get what the web is capable of.

hooray. someone else with a samsung monitor.

i have a 700NF. perfect flatness. unlike the virtual flatness of those other brands. : )

i don’t get you people that have sony monitors. with the money you would have saved on another brand, you could have got yourself a better video card.

I like mine a lot. Nice’n’flat, 19" of fun. .24 dot pitch, max res 1600*1200 @ 76 Hz. Whee.

Does anybody here have one of those Mitsubishi monitors that look concave? Those things creep me out.

yikes. that kemijo post was me.

he works with me, and that blasted computer was set up as him.

but he has a 700DF, and feels the same about sony monitors, so it might as well have been him.

my resolution for this year is to eat less fat and be kinder to the mentally retarded who post in this board. That’s my resolution.

1024 by 768 as well, all you guys.

zyada, this IS MPSIMS . . . duh

1024 X 768, I could go higher but those little icons hurt my eyes.

On this computer, which is 5 years old, I run it at 800x600 (don’t remember the refresh, don’t want to take the time to find out). On my computer, it runs at 1024x768 at 85 hz (I think). That’s damn good for a monitor I found in my garage.

go to your display properties, then it is in the effects tab, i believe.

click use large icons.

tada.

assuming you’re using 98, of course.

I basically have no freakin’ idea what this is all about, except it has to do with something on this screen that I’m staring at.

Also noticing that my kid has placed one of those damn stickers from the movie “Dinosaur” at the bottom left portion of monitor screen.

Grrrrrr…
