Omega’s fine, except that I think there might be another Omega. Or OG. I’m not picky.
I’ve been shortened to HM, Hockey, and Puck. Any of those make a vanity search impossible, but they aren’t that big a deal.
Nope. [George Bush]Nah gahn dah’t[Bush voice]. I just learned how to spell koeeoaddi without looking to see if I got it right!
I said my preference in the other thread: I’d prefer S’tyger, S’kat*, or S’kitty to STG, but it doesn’t bother me a whole lot.
- yes, I know, but it’s short for Silvercat which is my default username
Quiet, Valerina
I prefer Skald, but Rhymer is fine. Being called “the” is just too werid. And I occasionally get variations such as Skaldie, Skaldimus, and Rhymerica, none of which which bother me overmuch.
I have not yet seen anyone shorten my name - it doesn’t really lend itself to shortening, does it?
Aes, which I pronounce as “ace”. Some people actually shorten it to its root word, aesir, but that’s really weird to me for some reason.
May I ask what “aesiron” means?
I always think of you as “The One with the Yangs and the Kohms.”
I’ve been called Lobbers both IRL and on the dope. because of it’s similarity to both my doper name and my Surname.
It is a shortenning of only one letter though. Calling me Lob would not show up in a vanity search so if you want to talk about me you can use that.
I’m fine with E.
It’s a demonym I coined, meaning “of or relating to or characteristic of the Aesir”.
I have no Scandinavian or Germanic blood that I know of, am a pacifist, and have use of both eyes, but I was a mythology nerd as a child and have always liked the way the word looks. It’s always taken on various online communities, though, and I dislike numbers in usernames, so I added the -on suffix for username continuity.
Thanks to the doper poker guys, I’m now used to being called Missy.
I will even answer to it IRL.
It rolls of the tongue.
Not like mine. Bog-Wang.
People online have been referring to me as “Asi” since I started using this name years and years ago, and I like it plenty. I was informed recently, however, that at least one of my friends was hearing this in her head pronounced as “ASS-y” as opposed to the intended “AZ-ee.”
I’m not assy, people!!!
Do you pronounce it ā-sir-on? That’s how the vast majority seem to, but I pronounce it as uh-seer-un, which doesn’t flow as well.
I’m inordinately fond of schwas.

I like pretty much anything but “Buffy”. That’s a vampire slayer; I’m a Mafia player. I’m usually Buff, Buffer(s), or Tabby. I’m especially fond of Buffty (I don’t think anyone’s evr actually called me that, but you can thank Harlan Ellison for that one) or B., which is what I prefer IRL as well. It also irks me somewhat when people capitalize “bufftabby”, but the nicknames can be capitalized or not, I don’t care.
As picky as I am about my online name, I’m even pickier about my real name, which is actually very similar. But really, I’ll answer to anything.
I “hear” it as ah-seer-on. “Ah” as in, “open up and say ah”. “Seer” as in the first part of “seersucker” and “on” as, well, on. Very slight emphasis on the second syllable.
I’ve always liked it.
