What should Hillary do about the hostage situation?

it’s over.

My co-worker, a sweet-seeming little old lady, thinks this is a good thing and thinks that Hillary should give up the race for President. How an otherwise rational human being can think this is beyond me.

I personally think that, if the hostage negotiators think it has a good chance of saving lives, she should agree to talk to him but not in person. Of course, any promises she makes should be immediately broken once the hostage taker is in custody.

I think she’d be justified refusing to meet any demands at all and refusing to talk to him, though. There’s a strong case to be made for not giving in at all in this kind of situation, but I personally would try to help in some way as long as it didn’t compromise democracy in any way.

 Dude, you should have just been patient and waited for HRC to get elected and then you’d get your health care!

('Course, I’m sure you’re getting some right now.)

I was gonna say she should promise him anything he wanted as long as he promised not to negotiate with the Bush Administration. And to keep it secret until after the 2008 Election.

She must have set this thing up to get some free press coverage, and to show how she can keep cool and in command in a crisis. Just the kind of manipulation you’d expect from a Clinton.
Well, *somebody * had to say it, right?
