What should I do with this tzatziki?

I made tzatziki for a chicken wrap recipe that called for it and my wife wasn’t a big fan of the chicken so we probably won’t have it again. Now I have about a cup of tzatziki leftover, which I thought was delicious, but nothing to use it with. Suggestions?

(If all else fails I might just make the chicken wraps again but leave the seasoning off half the chicken.)

Everything is good dipped in it. Fresh vegetables - carrots, broccoli, zuchinni. A crust of bread. My personal favorite - French fries.

You can’t go wrong with the 'zik.

I have carrots. Great idea. Maybe I’ll buy some broccoli tomorrow, too. Thanks.

Get some olives, feta, and pita bread or a baguette, and you will have a killer antipasto. This is the kind of stuff that makes life worth it.

I have it every day on Saos with avocado and tomato for lunch

I second the dipping suggestion. Works well with bread and broccoli, for certain.

Dip for a thin crunchy cracker, like Finn Crisp. Hell, anything that is dippable and has a relatively neutral flavor.

Go to the store and get some falafel mix, pita, lettuce and tomato. Make falafel sandwiches.

I like to make lamb kofta (sometimes kofte).

It’s basically a hamburger patty with ground lamb, but look up some recipes because there’s a little more to it than that (chopped onions, herbs, spices, etc).

I’ll put the kofta on pita bread, with tsatziki, chopped tomatoes, lettuce, and red onion, kind of like a kofta gyro. I like to have it with french fries.

Also awesome as a dip for buffalo wings!

For the benefit of the viewing public: Tzatziki.

I recommend hummus.

From the link:

I’ve been eating tzatziki since the '80s, and I’ve never heard it referred to as ‘cucumber sauce’. It’s always been called tzatziki whether I’ve had it in restaurants, take-outs, or from supermarkets. Is calling it ‘cucumber sauce’ a regional thing?

You eat hummus with tzatziki? :dubious:

Not really dubious, but bemused.

I’ve always heard cucumber sauce on both coasts as long as it was a fast food/take-out place. Sit down restaurants usually call it tzatziki.

If you must know, I actually meant pita but was too lazy to edit :smack:

Here in the Midwest, I have mostly heard ‘cucumber sauce’. Most people don’t know what tzatziki is.

Tzatziki is also really good with grilled or roasted salmon.

Oooh, that sounds terrific!

There was a falafel/gyro type place in Tallahassee that would make “pita chips.” Cut up pita into a bunch of pieces (long ones like fries) and fry them until crispy. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Tzatziki sauce is now your dip for an unhealthy but delicious snack.

That sounds really good. I’ll just bake them instead of frying them and they won’t be so unhealthy.

As an alternative to all the (delicious-sounding!) Greek alternatives above: use as a garnish with curry! Tzatziki is almost indistinguishable from raita, a traditional Indian dish used as a contrast to spicy curry.
