What should my remaining Fluxx Blanxx be?

I have 6 cards left out of two booster packs: 1 goal, 3 keepers, and 2 new rules, and I have Fluxx 3.0.

These are the cards I’ve already made:
Keepers:
[li]Stars[/li]Red Tape
Government
Goals:
Diarrhea (milk & bread)
Astronomy (stars and moon)
Revolution (gov’t and war)
Poverty (2 fewer keepers than anyone else)
Bureaucracy (gov’t and red tape)
Federal Deficit (red tape and money)
Natural Causes (death not war)
Space Race (stars and rocket)
Sweetbreads (brain and bread)
New Rules:
[li]X=X-1 (doesn’t apply to 0 or Basic Rules)[/li][li]Play what you draw (disregard current play rule and play as many cards as you drew)[/li]
Actions:
[li]Redistribution- gather all keepers and deal the same number to each person; extras go to the ones who had the fewest[/li][li]Anarchy-each player discards one NR. The player with the smallest hand goes first, going clockwise.[/li][li]Nostalgia-replace one NR with one from the discard pile.[/li][li]Back to the '30s!-middle all hands(put them in the middle of the draw pile), shuffle draw pile, and redeal everyone a starting hand of 3 cards.[/li]
I’m looking for a good title for a Keeper/Goal version of Let’s do that Again, but that’ll have to wait until my next booster pack (at which point I may do this again).

Regale me with your ideas!

What Women Want-Love and Chocolate

WTF are you guys talking about???

Is this Fluxx Blanxx some kind of CCG that I’ve never heard of?

Fluxx is a wonderful card game (as far as I know it hasn’t been released as a CCG) in which the goal and the rules are always changing. OTTOMH

New Rule
These cards change the rules. If somebody plays a card that says ‘Play is now draw 1 card, discard 1 card’ that’s how the game is played. If the next player plays a card that says ‘Play is now draw 3 cards, discard 2’ then, that’s how the game is played

Keepers
These are cards that depict such things as Love, Chocolate, Coffee, War, Television. They are played simply by placing them face up in front of you. Various other cards can remove keepers from play.

Goals

These cards define how the game is won. For example Death By Chocolate says that whoever plays Death and Chocolate wins. Milk and Cookies means victory is playing Milk and Cookies. And All You Need Is Love means that the only keeper you need to win the game is Love.

The first time I played Fluxx, the game lasted only thirty seconds. Cleophus played a few cards and said “I’m not sure, but I think I win.” He had. The average game of Fluxx lasts just a few minutes. The game sells for under fifteen dollars and is worth every penny.

Love and Rockets?

and I bet that’s already a card, been a few years…

30 seconds? Pah! A few weeks ago, I lost two games in twenty seconds. Playing ‘Draw 5’ is not necessarily a good idea in the beginning of the game.

On a somewhat related note, are there any MADopers who are willing to playtest some of my new cards at Dope-a-Ween? I’ve tried some, but not many, and I don’t know how easy it will be to introduce Fluxx at my school. It’s a very geeky game, so as long as I find a venue, and a few people to play, I’ll be fine. Ah, Fluxx: more addicting than crack, booze, and nicotine combined; as soon as you understand how you have to think outside the box, you can’t stop playing. Come to think of it, I’d also like to play UberChrononauts, but if we’re in a house there probably won’t be room, given the number of people who’ll probably come.

Ludovic, I don’t get what’s funny about love and rockets; that’s how the goals usually work, half the fun is in the title.

Love And Rockets

How about Refugees (War and Poverty)? Or Anarcho-Capitalism (Money and not Government)? or Fascism (War and Government)?

And BTW, Fluxx has not and will never be distributed as a CCG. There are some interesting things coming, but I’m not sure if I’m allowed to discuss them, so…

So Fluxx:Mao::CCG:DnD sort of? :slight_smile:

Andros, Poverty is a Goal, not a Keeper, but I like the idea. Also, I used War & Gov’t as Civil War, so that’s out. Money no Gov’t is interesting, though… I really need another booster pack.

DocCathode, your link didn’t work, and what the heck is a CCG anyway?

Hmm, works for me. From the link

CCG= Collectible Card Game

Far as I know, Magic The Gathering was the first CCG. Everybody copied it- Spellfire, Jyhad, Wyvern, Highlander, Star Trek etc.

The idea of a CCG is that rather than buying a single deck of cards which is shared by all players. Players by decks and booster packs to build their own decks. During a game, each player deals to themselves from their own decks. As you cannot see what cards are in package before you buy it, and some cards are rarer than others, people trade cards and sometimes buy a single card for high prices. The specifics of play vary from CCG to CCG. I suggest you watch the cartoon Yugi Oh, which is based around a CCG.

Get to the Fluxx page and you can find huge lists of suggested cards (many of which probably wouldn’t actually work well)

Personally, I like the NR, Borders Bonus, which was printed as a promotional card, and renamed, though I don’t remember the new name. As I recall, if that rule is in play, and you’re in a public place like a Borders bookstore, everyone draws 1 card each time someone walks by and asks about the game.

Yes, but the links to Lucre’s page and Haag’s page have both broken. To answer someone’s earlier question, Fluxx is NOT like Mao. In Fluxx the rules are always visible, everyone knows when they change, there is a specialized deck, and it doesn’t really matter how many cards you have. Also, I hate Mao, while I love Fluxx.

The new name is Curiosity Bonus, IIRC. You can check the looneylabs site for updates on Fluxx and other games, by the way.
