What show with Loretta Long was this?

I don’t remember exactly when, sometimes in the 70’s I think, there was a program playing on the television with Loretta Long (Susan Robinson on Sesame Street).

I wasn’t paying attention to it, or even watching TV. It was just in the background and I was in the next room.

But then I heard her say: “Did you know your vagina is the cleanest part of your body?”

And I was like “what the hell is Susan talking about to Sesame Street kids.”

When I got into the living room someone had changed the channel.

That clearly couldn’t have been Sesame Street. But what the hell was it? Wiki shows nothing about it in her filmology.

Could it have been Soul!?

From Wikipedia:

“Before Sesame Street , Long served as co-host of the WNET program Soul! a weekly music, cultural, social and artistic PBS program, from its premier broadcast on September 12, 1968 (when she co-hosted with Alvin Poussaint, the black Harvard psychologist) through December 5, 1968 (when she co-hosted with then-future Soul! sole co-host Ellis Haizlip).”

Maybe. But That just doesn’t sound like a program that shed be talking to girls about their vaginas.

Are you sure it wasn’t the one line from a commercial that registered on you?

No. I vividly recall it was a program with Susan from Sesame Street. I just didn’t pay much attention to it until she said that. Then I went into the room where the TV was and my Pop had changed the channel. He wasn’t one to argue with about changing it back.
