Now premiere week is over, I was wondering what changes everyone made to their viewing schedule.
This is going to be my first season watching Lost. I was planning on catching Lost last year, but never got around to it. The recap show they had before the season premiere pulled me in, and helped me catch up. Arrested Development has been getting a lot of praise, but I haven’t gotten around to seeing it yet. It might end up on my viewing list, but it’s not a sure thing right now.
ER, the Apprentice and Law and Order:Original were on the list last season, but they just don’t seem interesting anymore. I’d been watching ER and L&O mostly out of habit anyway. So they’re not must-sees this year. I’m planning to keep watching Scrubs (when it comes back) and Medium. The only new series on the list is My name is Earl. It has the potential to be a really great show. Hope it lasts.
So, how’s your schedule shaping up so far?
Sundays: King of the Hill; Simpsons; Family Guy; American Dad; Desperate Housewives; Footballers’ Wives (BBC); Poker Superstars (FSN); Ultimate Poker Challenge (syndicated)
Mondays: Kitchen Confidential; Prison Break; Ultimate Fighter 2; Open Bar (Logo)
Tuesdays: World Series of Poker
Wednesdays: Lost; Invasion; World Poker Tour
Thursdays: Alias; Celebrity Poker Showdown
Fridays: Poker Royale; Ballbreakers (both on GSN)
Saturdays: Nothing set, but I’m hoping that Veronica Mars will be re-broadcast so I can watch.
And I’ve gotten hooked on repeats of The Amazing Race on GSN so I’ll squeeze those in for another few weeks until I’ve seen them all.
Sunday: Simpsons, The West Wing (taping one).
Monday: **Arrested Development, CSI: Miami ** (maybe) Will probably drop **2 1/2 Men ** until AD goes off in January.
Tuesday: House. Will catch **My Name is Earl ** during reruns.
Wednesday: Nothing. My wife’s getting into Lost, but I wasn’t all that impressed.
Thursday: CSI
Friday: Numb3rs (unless it continues to try to be CSI: Math, at which point I’ll stop watching)
We’ve got a very full slate, but that won’t last. New shows in bold.
Sundays: Cold Case, Desperate Housewives
Mondays: Surface
Tuesdays: Bones (probably not for long), TAR
Wednesdays: Veronica Mars (rebroadcast here on Sundays at 7 and 11), Lost, Invasion
Thursdays: nothing yet, going to try Night Stalker. already bailed on Reunion
Fridays: Threshold, Numb3rs, Supernatural
That’s a lot of shows. I figure Surface isn’t long for this world, and Bones isn’t long for my viewing list. Veronica and TAR are my baybees, so they won’t get rid of me without going off the air.
Sunday: Charmed, Desperate Housewives
Monday: CSI:Miami
Tuesday: Supernatural
Wednesday: One Tree Hill
Thursday: The OC, Everwood, ER
Friday: Threshold
I tape Without a Trace and Missing too, but with the exception of a few episodes I’m over a season behind on each. So I’m not sure if I should continue to, or just give up until they’re in syndication in the afternoon/early evening. I keep meaning to get caught up, but I don’t.
Of the new shows I’ve tried, I probably won’t be watching Reunion, The Ghost Whisper or Surface again. Bones and E-Ring maybe in reruns but I prepare to drop them if something better comes along.
Shows I make an effort to catch (DVR)
Arrested Development
Two and Half Men
Lost
Invasion (liked the pilot, will keep watching)
Battlestar Galactica (although it’s over until jan)
Less than Perfect (very underrated show)
Justice League Unlimited.
Shows I’ll watch
Simpsons
Family Guy
Malcolm in the Middle
Shows I watch because my wife does
George Lopez
Reba
Sunday: Rome, Cold Case, Desperate Housewives
Monday: Arrested Development, Las Vegas (guilty pleasure), Prison Break. (watch LV live while Tivo’ing PB)
Tuesday: Amazing Race, Bones (but not for long). Will catch House in reruns, or after TAR ends. Wish we could squeeze in My Name Is Earl.
Wednesday: Lost, Invasion
Thursday: Survivor, CSI, Without a Trace
Friday: Nuttin’. Maybe Numbers, although I’m dubious.
Saturday: Nuttin’.
All I have time for now is The Simpsons, Family Guy,** House**, and Lost. I’ll try to catch Mythbusters, too, when I can, but it’s a full semester and even the few shows I do watch will be sacrificed for studying sometimes.
Except for Lost. I’ll fail my exam before I’ll miss an episode of Lost.
